With Smith, the question is whether QPR want to keep him as a backup in their squad of 25, whether they're about to sign a competent manager who will actually play him, or whether they're looking to move him on. If they're looking to move him on, they will need to give him away, so that what would have been the transfer fee instead goes to him as a signing on fee, to compensate for what will likely be significantly lower wages. And in that scenario, I'd be gobsmacked if he ended up anywhere other than here.

Let's hope that if he does come back and we do manage to win promotion next year, he can spend more than his usual one season at a time in the Premiership
Of course there is the other possibility - that he recognises that he struggles in the Premiership so decides to go to a League 1 side to enjoy the thrill of promotion and of being a permanent fixture in the team the following season. If you follow my meaning.
I would hope that Tommy will end up back here. Maybe Heidar too....he scored well for QPR this season but they are moving on and if they stay up won't need him. If we got both back then I would think that Iwelumo and Yeates would perhaps make way..... Question is whether we could pay them enough. I doubt that we'd break the structure too much...and they are on quite a bit now. But if we don't offer enough then you have to wonder who will. Tommy doesn't want to move so that only leaves Charlton or Palace maybe...
I'd happily take HH and TS back if they don't break our bank. I think they'd be happy to return IF QPR stay up...do I really want them to stay up? Would they come if QPR stayed up? I hate QPR, why did they have to go there.....
I would like to see Heiðar return. He could play off Chris Iwelumo or Troy Deeney. The bad thing about him is his age, Heiðar will be 35 in August, I remember when he was last at Watford his style of play got him injured a lot and could we afford to have him play only a few matches. Tommy Smith would be a great asset if he were returning. Did you know Heiðar was born as Heiðar Sigurjónsson.
Helgar must be his mother's name. Ak, what are the rules about someone taking their mother's rather than their father's name? Can you change your name if your father just upsets you?
Do we get £1m if Bolton stay up? If we did and it was QPR or Bolton...and we got Smith/Helguson if they stayed up.....hard to think which is better.
