I not sure is it a relevant matter but our great home form has been overshadow the fact that we have lost 8 of our last 9 away matches. Because of that does anybody believe we have any realistic chances to get even a point from Stamford Bridge or Etihad? I know sparky have succeded to put our act together in home matches ,but i really hope that three points from the Stoke match will do it....Otherwise we could be so deep in it..........
I was pondering this earlier igor. Under Warnock we took 10 points out of a possible 30 in away games. Which is a 33% return. Under Sparky we have 1 point out of 21 which equates to... er..mmm..ugh... 4.8%? ish. It might be even less. That makes for grim reading whoever you are. I think that what we do have going for us, as well stated elsewhere... is that we are an ever improving side that is gathering momentum. Our home form has the capability of giving us ' Unbelievable belief ' and as such we are capable of beating anyone.
Our terrible away form has to improve sooner of later and whilst the odds are against us, we can certainly get something at the Bridge and City.
People should keep certain things in perspective. We don't like Chelsea, thats fair enough. However, they have been one of the most consistent teams in the Prem for the last 6-7 years. Their team is full of class players. They have just beaten Barcelona. they regularly reach the latter stages of the Champions League. They have won the prem in very recent years and a top 3 finish is standard for them. There is much more to ponder. Don't forget that they completely played us off the pitch at our place for the second half when they only had 9 men. Our game against them on Sunday will possibly be the hardest of our season. They may want to issue a bit of revenge for what happened at LR. We are all a little guilty of having one eye on the Stoke game. In many ways thats understandable, but i really fear our coming game against Chelsea. I think we will need a miracle performance to get even get a point. Not just because of our awful away record but because we are playing a hell of a team in their backyard. I hope we keep our discipline because we must protect our GD.
Exactly. If it dont go as we planned and somehow scum goes 3 up it is important that you dont stop trying because of that goaldifference. Its not over until that fat lady has sung or how it goes....? Remember what Everton did at old trafford last sunday. Realistically we need to hope ,that scum is not performing at their best so we could shake them a little bit.
If things go our way in Bolton's next two games, which will have been played before we step out at ST, a draw MAY suffice against Chelsea, but the predicament we're in now because of previous squandering of points means that nothing less than a win may be needed in that game. I don't think it's beyond us - Wigan were robbed there - but it's going to be a he'll of a struggle, doubly so if we're 2 points behind Bolton going into that game.
It's a case if having to my friend and it's this easy now: We want three points in all our last games All the realistic maybes stick them up your arse . This team to stay in this league ... It's in our hands Forget about results as they may effect ours . Same old record for me 9 points available that's the target
In a way,I think we have just run out of home games. Our away performances have been awful, but we have done well at home.I really cant see us getting points from Chelsea and City,so its all about the Stoke game.Lose that or draw and I think thats that!..
We've already beaten Chelsea once (albeit they were down to 9), and ran Citeh very close at home, so I don't think that its unreasonable to go for points in both these games Indeed, I think that our game at West Brom showed that constantly sitting back (at least in the first half) and trying to absorb the pressure isn't always the best tactic It's going to be a close call one way or the other, and we can be sure that fans of Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan will all be nervously contemplating the next 3 weeks too 3 weeks and then empty weekends - apart from scanning the web for all those transfer rumours
we should be going for nine points how can that be not logical. there are only human ... get at them ffs ****ing point here point here may stay up may go down ... ****ing wusses. if you want to fight ****ing fight ... its black and white time no shades of grey tossers
We gotta go for 3 points against Chelsea FFS. Could be suicide if we even entertain the thought that we'll get 3 points against Stoke and that will save us!!! It's the same load of old b*llocks spouted on here before our games at ManU and West Brom, and I reckon MH reads this sh*t because we did not go for it in those games - terrible mistakes which would have me looking for the P45's for MH if we go down! It's time now to turn our away form around - Wigan should of beaten Chelsea there, and would have done but for bad officiating, so why the hell can't we? If we give it up, go for a draw, and depend on a win against Stoke we'll probably be relegated, and deserve to be for such negativity.
Yeah that's right, lets go all out attack against Chelsea and City. Lets play two at the back and four up front. That will work. Give it a rest you eejit
what ? formations ... pillock we can beat them team v team when did i say/talk formation? ... i state this straight you dumb nuts you sit back against chelsea and city you will get **** all out of the game . if you can influence the pace of the game then do it ... thinking this way what can you eejits expect out of these games 3 points maybe against stoke. do you honestly think hughes will sit back??? you only think this way when you have a margin of error .... anyone thinks we have that knows nothing about football at all. these should all be treated as must win games imo nothing less and you then adapt to the result
