Against better judgement i tuned in with it been citys last home game and a victory to talk about but yet again the show was all about the two rugby teams no football guest just G lloyd and two rugby experts. After half hour and only smalltalk about city because nobody on the show went to the game i thought the second half of the show must have some football context it did when they read out texts .How many on here could say they was happy with the show last night .http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00qvqp9/Sports_Talk_23_04_2012/

I accept the argument that it's not the answer, but having dealt with the management of the BBC in the past, they're as tick as pig **** with no interest in local culture, pride or feelings. Their goal is simply to be talked about, it doesn't matter if it's insults, they prefer it to being ignored as they only count responses not their content. They are simply trolls.

As sad as it is, the only option is to switch them off. They have nothing of consequence to add to any debate anyway. They get most of their information from message boards.

I forgot to say, for some reason they decided that this 'region' should include the south bank. Apart from to interrupt our commentary*, Grimsby and Scunny barely get a mention even though they probably equal the rugby in numbers.

*why do they do that? Wouldn't fans of those teams be listening to the commentary of their own game?

EUREKA. I feel thick not seeing it before. Local Radio feel they need someone that can talk about rugby league. Getting football pundits on would raise the level, but none would have a clue about rl, so we have to endure thick **** presenters opinions on football because they're the only ones that can comment on rl.

What annoys me is that there is no alternative. Not listening to Blunderside won't change anything, they aren't accountable to anyone.

Why on earth don't WHCR step up to the plate and start offering the services (particularly matchday) that Blunderside currently monopolize?

What fans want is to listen to debate and discussions of other like minded people. WHCR does that very well on a Friday night and if they offered a bigger service their ratings would go through the roof and they would earn more from their sponsors.

You should spike your mate Waterson to get harrassing them to do summat! :emoticon-0129-call:

How many of their potential listeners on the South Bank actually listen to Radio Lincolnshire instead of 'Umbersard, which is probably more akin to their own 'local' cultural allegiencies anyway?

At least the South Bankers have an option unlike ourselves.

On a related point, I have recently stopped watching BBC North at tea time/lunchtime on the occasions when I get the opportunity in favour of Calender News. In the past, I guess because of advertising content (or supposed lack of it), I have always preferred Auntie, but Calender is quite good coverage and more reflects my geographical and cultural interests. In terms of distance, Rotherham, Sheffield, Leeds and Bradford are probably as near to me as Hunstanton, Knobbleby, Saxleby and the other strange and wonderful places Auntie takes pride in pushing on to us on the North Bank. However I always feel more local affiliation to the former than the latter.

I think, as Dutch alludes to, BBC 'Umbersard was estabished and is now being run by Aunitie's Lovies from Shepherd's Bush who have no understanding of local issues and wish to force their definition of 'local' on us.

Where is Terry Pearson when we need him and his Yorkshire Republican Army when we need them?

You would of thought they would of had someone who was at citys last home game on the show just in case someone rang up to ask their opinion .

I think that the trouble with West Hull Radio is that it is still a community radio station. The Friday show is of obvious interest to more people in Hull and Hull City fans in particular but lacks Professionalsm and financial backing. The only way that West Hull Radio could hope to compete is through KCFM style investment, which in itself is probably doomed to failure in the same way that KCFM eventually was.

Unfortunately I fear we are stuck with what we pay for, like it or lump it. Auntie is still influenced by Journalistic Unions and run by London Lovies, so without a bigger local change lobby, nothing is gonna indeed change! Defeatest I know, but true.

I also have stopped watching Look North for the same reason, I have no interest in what is happening in Boston, Skeggy, Grantham, Sleaford etc. The news always seems to be down from that area and disproportionate in comparison to the East Riding. Some stuff is news worthy but it feels like every night i'm listening to 'local' news from nearly 50-60 miles from where I live. I know Leeds etc is about the same distance, but it feels more relevant as Yorkshire than news from South Lincolnshire and North Norfolk. Mind you, the 'local' BBC news in York covers a much wider area, reaching all the way up to Newcastle and the borders and across to Carlisle and the lake district!

    They've got falling listeners?

What a ****ing shock that is.

Note to Blunderside - Stop employing talentless ****s and some people might actually listen, it's not rocket science.

Despite the molten horseshit Gollum comes out with, I actually managed to persevere for a long time, just to get something resembling a City fix,

I eventually gave up when he stated heavy breathing down the mike.

Just listen to WHCR on a Friday now - much better show, and it actually has people that care about what they're talking about on.

I have as little interest in Leeds and Rotherham as I do in King's Lynn and Sleaford.

Erm.......Not true. Well someone needs to tell them first maybe ? Sportstalk is as popular as ever and its in the top 10 listened to programmes.

If costs are needed then they will get rid of G Lloyd first surely ?

They should do the Betty and Gwylim show, she'd run rings round him, even if it was a show about rugby league.

At least then we'd know which was better, rugby league or a chicken dinner.
