Blimey, I wouldn't have believed it. When the Pog hit the woodwork twice on Saturday it meant that we had done so a total of 20 times this year, which means that we are 3rd in that particular league - behind L'pool with 30 (all together now, Ahh!) and Man City on 21.

One of the most pleasing things about this season, especially in the second half, is how clinical we have been in front of goal. Just think, but for that little bit of wood, we could have already exceeded Jol's prediction of 60 goals.

Would also be interesting to see how much higher up in the table we would be had those shots gone in...

If only 3 more had gone in and not affected the final result of the match in any way Liverpool would now be below us in the table on goal difference. If they had all given us a victory they would be 9 points below us.

Does it include if it hits the woodwork and then goes in? Or the one earlier in the season where Dempsey hit the bar and it bounced off the keeper (I can't recall which one) and went in.

I remember in the great escape season when we were playing Reading we hit the woodwork a lot in that game. I think the fans started singing 'the crossbar for England'. Thankfully we managed to score a couple too, that crossbar could have had us relegated.

To be fair, Liverpool have hit the woodwork more than us, so in a game of 'if only', they would probably gain even more points than us.

If's and but's! If there 30 would have gone in they would be 5th! That's just guesswork BTW.

I recall us singing, we've hit it 5 times, that f-ing crossbar we've hit it 5 times!
    Very funny. Still won it.
