In fairness I can understand why Spurs and Arsenal wouldn't, same with Newcastle now as well.

Totally the oposite mate. I dont spent all year disliking then, to turn around a support them just because they have more money than us and as such make Europe
I dislike certain teams both at home (England) and when they play abroad, even though i can readily accept they are better than us.
I dont understand people switching rivalries just because they're in Europe...Is this "fickle"....cue roller/yorkie....

Which answer would you like? For some people, choosing to support the home team is a given because they're real patriots. You on the other hand, my friend are a man of principle, if misguided in some of your views. When the barricades go up I'm with you. Anyway only 2 or 3 players most days who play for Chelski on any given occasion are british/english/cockney/west london. Why should I suddenly wish them every joy at the expense of a team who are a joy to watch most days.

Still think that the cruel defeat in unfortunate circumstances in the last minute will suit us (and me personally) best. It will be interesting to see if Di Matteo, who seems a decent guy, lasts until the new season if they go out.

By the way, I missed your contribution to the summing up of Adel Taarabt's game on Saturday. How was it for you? I know I promised you a hat trick. Will a couple more winning goals in the last two games do instead?

    thanks mate,
i could post as i broke the screen on my laptop and also it was 4:30 am when the game finished. Spent most of the next day in bed....
    So just for you...
AT along with most others had a good game on the whole i think, He seems to have changed his game a great deal and is becoming the solid prem player i sad he could be if he put his head down and grafted. i dont think we should expect magical moments as per last season, as thats not his game anymore.
the goal was a great strike regardless of whether Brad was ready for it. the whistle went and AT used a bit of Nous to put it in the back of the net.
If you look back at my previous posts regarding AT, you'll see that i have always said he is skillfull but just lacking that "nous or premiership brain" and consistancy. It looks like MH and thwe team are getting that through to him and its starting to show.
Obviously if he has a great last 2 games, he'll be considered god again by many, but over the corse of the whole season I think even he will think he's been a bit underwhelming. i think its a transitional time for AT right now, and all indicators are saying that he's going to be a greatly improved player next season under MH. I just hope he can produce a few MOM games and inject that spark that can keep us up.
I watched the game and both my mate and I agreed that we would have prob taken tarbs (or Mackie!) off for the last 20 mins and put on Cisse. Not because he was playing badly, but to offer something else up front in support of BZ. Seems like it would have been the right choice now eh? (Queenslandrangers can confirm this).
As for the rest of the team, some massive performances esp from Hill (again) Mackie (again) Taye (again) diakite..you get the idea.
Can i just say, that i have never been so wrong about a player, as i was about Clint Hill....Immense and surely POTY. but thats for another post on another day.
As for supporting Chelsea in Europe only a few days after screaming at them at SB..cant see how or why people would do it to be honest?!

A chelsea win is best for us. A very difficult game at SB can only be made slighhtly easier if they rest some players. I really fear for us if they put out their best 11 on sunday.

The goal on Saturday and the superb finish v Arsenal were EXACTLY like last year and were magic moments for me.
If we'd gone 4-4-2 in the last 20 mins it would have been suicidal!!

Cheering on the Scum whatever next.As i've said before the only time i want them to win is when it directly affects us,they will be playing a strong team against us whoever they put out.More worryingly is the team they put out against Blackburn on the last day of the Prem if they are in the Champions League Final. If they can't claim 4th place you can guarantee they will rest their entire starting 11 against Blackburn,i just hope were far enough infront of them by then.Wanting Chelsea to win, honestly!

I will support Chelskie tonight, they are British afterall, and Real tomorrow.
But in my ideal little world, I would like them to win in the most difficult, time consuming and emotionally draining way......1-1 at FT, 2-2 at extratime and about 8-7 on penalties. Then they can look forward to playing the Madrid and the great one in the final (that prospect would blinker Chelskie entirely.,......they will not be able to see any other matches than that one)

di Matteo is already making noises about how tough their run-in is and the toll it's taking on their squad. I fully expect him to rest quite a few of tonight's team against us on Sunday but they'll still put out a team that will give us a hard time. The point you make regarding the Blackburn game is valid Hammy and if we get something at Stamford Bridge on Sunday they may just put the 2nd XI out in the last game out of spite for f*cking their season up and the Terry saga...

I would have to say that I'm not too fussed on the result tonight. What I DO want to see is Barca getting the Chelski players running all over the park for 90 minutes as they chase the ball and Barca players. I want the Chelsea players totally knackered by the end of the game, so that all they have on their mind is being ready for the FA Cup final - and their need to win a piece of silverware/glory.
Anything that will allow us to have at least some kind of edge to get at least a point - or even maybe the opportunity to steal all three!
    Everything else... not bothered!

Col, what im saying is that his game is not all "flicks & tricks" anymore and he's becoming a proper prem player with the aid of MH.
the goal was a great strike but dont expect too many nuts etc in the near future.....
Should have left the formation on sat but we were just suggesting a personell swap. Not least to rest him for Chels. Absolutely nothing negative at all

If the game at Stamford Bridge is anything to go by then Drogba will spend so long rolling around with a pained look on his face that the injury time (on the injury time on the inju....) will last until next Tuesday anyway. That would leave them to play their youth team against us.

Any other speculation is just that - speculation and not worth considering. You heard it here first.

(Incidentally, I want Barcelona to win for aesthetic football reasons - you wouldn't prefer a dawbed painting by me rather than a Dali or Goya just because I'm English)
