That's interesting, I wouldn't have thought it would affect the odds, as Man U would be firm favourites. But still will get down the bookies the weekend to a tenner on an away win to the mighty Swans.
you dont have to play the strongest team at all. everyone's interpretation of the strongest team is different, you play your best side that can cope with the superstars of man utd, If all man utd has to do is win against us for the title then strongest dont mean best. i would go for goals and not the passing in our own half for the majority of our possession because man utd will do a job on us as we wont get past their defence which will be camped on the half way line. play two strikers up front in moore and lita and play danny in a more central midfield roll just behind the strikers. talking about midfield we already have a player who can take siggs place in danny himself, he would fit like a glove doing what siggs does and it would enhance his goals.......i can see him playing well there with no pressure as a striker that is struggling for goals......when the season is over all we need to concentrate on is a couple of strikers, a couple of tall defenders and a utility player....
Dai, I can see where you're coming from but I don't think that Danny has anything like the vision for a pass that Siggy has. It's a very specialised position which is why players who can do it at a high level are so sought after and command such a transfer premium. Maybe it's something that Buck might experiment with in future but not this season.
Play full strength side against United, otherwise we'll look like complete and utter twats. I think maybe against Wolves we should give a few of our backup players like Gower and Lita a game so they can have a go; I know Liverpool have had a crap 2012 in the league but they're so unpredictable at the moment and I don't fancy Darnel Situ against Suarez... Still, go full strength against United. If we were to pull something off at Old Trafford i'd be chuffed (i don't like united to say the least)

I'm afraid not, I was in Bournemouth almost breaking my TV...word of advice; never listen to Swansea win their most important game for decades while holding an Xbox controller in your hand in an unsecure fashion. I nearly broke my TV screen and only just avoided tripping on my laptop charger cable when Dobbie got that third!
One thing Cherry, if Southampton go up, which at present with West Ham loosing is a sure thing. It will be a nice trip to St Mary's, and not far to go for a change.
I'm not to sure ivor. i like danny's work rate and his passing is not bad, its when he is up front he tends to bottle it with shots, he had a near miss on saturday when he hit the crossbar but they are too few and far between for a center forward, I honestly believe he with a bit of training could fill siggs boots and i can see him scoring a lot more middle of the range goals.....its just my opinion that I and bunch or ardent fans were discussing in the pub when we were talking about losing siggs....I'm not saying it would work but the consensus was that its worth a try.
DG can hold the ball up but im not sure if he has the skills to play in that position, he just needs a bit more regular service IMO , if his chances are getting few and far between a bit of rustyness may well creep in, its one of the reasons that position is so hard to play, you have to be ball winner ,defender and clinicle finisher all rolled into one! The finished article in that position is probably £10m quid and up so we cant argue with the service and value he has given us for £3.5m !! He will learn alot from his first season with us and i beleive he will be much better for this experience. Morrison(Norwich) cost £4.5m i think, but DG has much more potentail and a more all round game. If we dont sign Siggy then i expect us to get someone from the Dutch league as a replacement, you heard it here first !!

If they go up I'll be going to watch the Swans(although I'll probably be at university somewhere else in the country by the time the game comes around ) Me and Southampton have a less than cordial relationship though...their fans, to put it bluntly, are pricks - at least the ones I've come across.
I've got a Southampton lad in work with me, decent lad. Panicking this morning after West Ham's win. Most of the football lads in work are Pompey fans, depressed to say the least.

im thinking of the fans pgf. they dont deserve the way the club has been run badly since the time harry was their manager...
bad business management and nothing to do with the supporters.....it can and does happen with owners trying to make a fast buck....the pompey fans i feel sorry for..
