    League One team:
    Ben Hamer (Charlton)
    Jack Hunt (Huddersfield)
    Michael Morrison (Charlton)
    Harry Maguire (Sheff Utd)
    Rhoys Wiggins (Charlton)
    Johnnie Jackson (Charlton)
    Stephen Quinn (Sheff Utd)
    Stephen Gleeson (MK Dons)
    Darren Potter (MK Dons)
    Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield)
    Ched Evans (Sheff Utd)

Interesting to see 4 Charlton players mainly in defence and no inclusion of Chris Solly. Agree with most apart from Hunt but I don't know much about him, Potter I thought Powell was better than him and to some degree Hamer, but goalies are always done based on who gets most clean sheets I believe. Also, this is taken from BBC.

Team of the year awards are just stupid anyway. The people judging them have not watched many if any of the games each team has played, therefore they go based completely off of stats and coinflips.

Just can't see that JJ has been the best left midfielder in L1, as this is team of the year then loans must count so the lad that Massive had on loan from Stoke was probably the best Left Mid.

JJ has been an impeccable captain, scored some very good goals but he is a centre mid doing a good job for us at left mid, he is not an out and out left mid.

I've had a quick look around the 'Udders forums re Hunt. He apparently can't defend for toffee but is top notch going forward. They are under the impression he will become a winger, so not surprising the attacking RB was seen to be included.

The fact Ched Evans remained in the team is disgusting.

Strangeways FC plays in the Manchester violent behaviour league so he shouldn't qualify as not a league 1 player at the end of the season

The thing about Chris Solly is that he doesn't stand out in games at all. That's not a criticism, it's just that he's not a flair player like Wiggins. We know how brilliant Solly is from watching him every week, but the it's the players who played against him (who only did so twice) who vote.

If Beavon has played all season like he did on Sat then he should definitely be in that team.

Still can't believe that they included Evans.. really is disgusting.

Even if the vote was before the Court case, as soon as he was found guilty he should have been removed from list! OR even removed now!

If we are signing a striker then why not Beavon?

He looks tasty and I think could step up. I'd have my faith and optomism in him than say Jamie Vardy.

No offence, but not sure if Paul Hayes wants to play in Div Two. Some here have often suggested he is more suited to the Championship than Div One.

Still, he might agree if he was really happy with you. With Hayes you would be back up in Div One within a year provided you can replace Beavor with someone competent.

Gordon Taylor defending his inclusion is a disgrace.

L1 footballers voting for him is a disgrace :(

Gordon Taylor has an unenviable record for spineless behaviour and tepid pronouncements, of which this is just the latest example, IMO.

I read that. Quite remarkable. I liked the bit where he says excluding him would have caused more of an outrage.
