What has getting on with someone got to do with business? I have had to put my bigoted racist views to one side, when employing skunks for certain jobs!
Agree with everything - besides, I'd put Catts, Meyler, Vaughan, Gardner and Colback ahead of him in the side - so why would we want to sign a 6th choice Midfielder! I hope the article is wrong and that there is smoke without fire!
Not sure if you are aware but discussions here on the topic, although no official proof it is Sunderland...http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...rland-and-Paulo-Gazzaniga-Football-Gillingham
Does this open up Malouda/Kalou to be bought? Would love either of the two Doubt they'd come here though
Don't rate Kalou to be honest, think he is lightweight and not a great finisher. Malouda I just don't see moving to the North East either.
Sunderland have suffered a transfer snub, with Valentin Stocker set to join Hoffenheim from FC Basel. Sunderland were keen on the left-sided attacker and were ready to press ahead with a summer move for him. But Stocker, 23, is all set for a move to Hoffenheim. The Switzerland international, who has been at Basel since 2007, wants to seek a new challenge and Hoffenheim believe they will tie up a £3.5m deal for him.
Pretty sure we should be able to attract players over and above hoffenheim if a player has any sort of ambition (premier league and all that ) then again could all just be newspaper ****e only time will tell .
Nicklas Bendtner says he is looking for a “new challenge” after admitting there is no way back for him at Arsenal. Bendtner finishes his loan spell at Sunderland this weekend and Martin O’Neill is not believed to be interested in a permanent deal. Danish striker Bendtner, 24, will have to go back to Arsenal, but they are ready to sell him, with a move to Germany most likely. Bendtner told Danish football magazine Tipsbladet: “I am ready for new *challenges. I have heard about concrete interest from other clubs, who sound interesting, but I can’t say more than that right now. After all, I am still under contract with Arsenal, so I have to get back to Arsenal and talk to them first. “On the specific matter of staying with Arsenal, I have to say I need something new to happen for me. There is no panic thinking about my future. Now, it’s all about Euro 2012 for Denmark and afterwards I can look at my club future.”
Dempsey would be brilliant, but Arsenal etc are after him (and what about Harry redknapp !) And is Pavlechenko still available?. Can we put in 'cheeky' bids for Berbatov, Drogba, Defoe, Arshavin ?. Zigic at Birmingham has the hieght and can score goals (6'8" they reckon.
Dempsey, is awesome, but sadly is out of our reach... As for Pav, isn't he on loan somewhere, and a free agent in the summer?...i'm not 100% certain.
http://www.westlondonsport.com/paper-talk/bertrand-linked-with-sunderland-as-blues-are-said-to-want-blackburn-rovers-man/ Sunderland are interested in signing Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea, who are competing with Newcastle for Blackburn left-back Martin Olsson, according to reports. The People claim that Sunderland boss Martin OâNeill has been tracking Bertrand, whose first-team chances have been limited by Ashley Cole. And the Sunday Mirror suggest that Olsson, who has been linked with Newcastle, has been identified by Chelsea as Coleâs long-term replacement. Chelsea are said to be willing to spend £7m on the Swede, who has been tipped to leave Blackburn following their relegation. Real Madrid have again been linked with Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, with The Sun on Sunday suggesting the Spanish club will bid £15m for him. The People also say Atletico Madridâs Colombian striker Falcao is now Chelseaâs top transfer target and that Everton will try to sign Jamie Mackie if QPR are relegated today. Mackie is said to be seen as ideal for David Moyesâ style of play, with the Goodison Park boss considering a move for the Scotland international. Click here for the Chelsea v Blackburn quiz

Sky Sports understands the race to sign Blackburn midfield star Steven N'Zonzi has already begun with nearly half the Premier League keen on him. N'Zonzi has been a pivotal player for Rovers since moving from Amiens in 2009. In January Rovers fended off interest, but now their relegation has been confirmed Sky Sports understands that they will not stand in his way, subject to their valuation being met. Rovers will be looking to cut their budget now they are in the Championship and N'Zonzi is one of their most prized assets. Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton, Sunderland and Fulham are all among the clubs looking at making a move for the 23-year-old. Sky Sports understands a number of clubs are already in contact with N'Zonzi's representatives as he looks set for a move straight back to the Premier League.

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill is eyeing up a swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Danny Guthrie, who is out of contract in June. The former Liverpool player, who has appeared 81 times for the Magpies since his joining the club in 2008, is said to be settled in the North-East and keen to remain in the area. He has scored 7 times for United, though has recently found himself switched to a more defensive role while filling in for Cheik Tiote in the Newcastle midfield. Sources within the Stadium of Light have told WhatCulture O’Neill is keen to bring the ball-playing midfielder to the club, with on-going uncertainty regards Craig Gardner who considers his future to be at a midlands based club. While Guthrie would welcome a move within the region, it is likely he would be concious of the ramifications that a move to Newcastle’s bitter rivals, Sunderland, would have. Sunderland are also continuing their pursuit for the signature of Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar who, like Guthrie, is out of contract this summer.
