Thats because we are proper fans, not "Jonny come latelys". Never heard a peep out of Chelsea from the 80s, it was only when that twat on Soccer A.M professed undying love for Chelsea that your fans started to come out of the woodwork <ok>

Toledo - I say he lacks discipline because before he pushed forward, like he does now, he was far more defensive-minded and even then he was caught out of position all the time, in previous seasons all the analysis on Song was he got pulled out of position far too easily, so you don't have to take my word for it.

Lazarus - I'll put it another way, when I think about CMs you generally have 3 types, box to box - they tend to be able to attack and defend, AMs - they are far more offensive than defensive and DMs - who are far more defensive than offensive.

I expect a certain level of skill and technique from box to box/traditional CMs which Song doesn't have. I expect AMs to be goal scorers and be able to take players on. I expect DMs to be disciplined and shield the defence - not get pulled from pillar to post. This is the reason why I have a problem with Song in general, he doesn't "fit".

I agree, although he is a good player, he still needs to tighten his game up to become a top player. Maybe he just needs a consistent midfield playing around him? Remember we keep on losing our best players in midfield and this is the first time he's played with both Arteta and Rosicky....

I'm not sure what our best midfield is - all bar Ramsey provide something unique/important; Song - physical presence, Arteta - keeps the ball moving, Wilshire - ability to beat players and steel with good passing, Rosicky - great dribbling, Diaby - ability to beat players and height.

On pure ability I would say our best midfield is Rosicky, Wilshere and Diaby if playing a 3 but its not very secure. Song would add security but you'd have to drop Diaby but then we lose something creatively. Our midfield isn't right.

The problem is not everyone has been fit at one time. Hopefully next season, everyone should be fit and ready for selection. What Wenger picks then will be interesting. Will Wilshere and Diaby come straight in or will he persist with Song, Arteta and Rosicky. For me Arteta is an automatic selection as he does the simple things really well. He seems to keep the midfield together and well oiled....Only position i can see under danger is Rosicky's, even though he's had a good season. Song stays in as he gives us muscle...

I don't think it is very likely that Song goes out onto the pitch and doesn't do what Wenger has in mind for the position, in fact from your description, he doesn't even come close to playing the position, yet he continues to play him game after game. Seems so much more improbable than just asuming that you haven't got a clue.

I think it is far more likely that the midfield role that you are trying to pidgeon hole Song into, is simply totally incorrect. Given that Song was not fitting excellently while we went on out 7 game winning streak and shut down Man City and Chelsea, I would be happy for him to continue not fitting for a lot longer. In fact if you could let me know when you think he is doing the right thing then I'll take a look and perhaps start to worry.

I'm actually a lot happier about Ramsey now, because as you seem to have Song completely wrong, maybe Ramsey is playing a lot better than it looks like he is playing.

    Of course you are.
PS. Don't talk out of your arse! Chelsea have NEVER had a crowd of 4,000 for a top flight game let alone when playing a team 3rd in the league but I know a club who has!

Those that are saying that ramsey is better than diaby are completely clueless, but i'm not surprised because alot of people talk rubbish on this. It is clear that ramsey isn't good enough and it is only down to injuries that he is getting a start, diaby has been riddled with injuries , true ramsey has also had his injuries but he played a fair chunk of gmaes at the start of the season and it was clear then that he isn't up to the mark. He isn't physically strong enough and is often found wanting when players are stronger and faster than him, and he isn't good enough in possession, he gives the ball away far too often and can't play in the hole behind the striker. When arteta wilshere and diaby are all fit there will be serious competition for places. Diaby is a ridiculously good player but most fans write him off because he has had his injury worries, look at rosicky and rvp this season, injury free and they have been immense, the same will happen with diaby if he can stay fit.

For the record, I would rate a fit and in form Diaby over a fit and in form Ramsey

Diaby is better than Ramsey at the moment but lets wait until he reaches near his peak and then compare....Ramsey is also very talented but is lacking confidence. I hope he comes back to form and proves all the doubters wrong, as he is a special player.

A fit and in form Diaby is about the most unique midfielder you can find in the world.

How likely is it that Diaby will feature in games for France this year? Especially if he gets to play in the last 3 games.

they are both amazing players on their day and they play in similar positions. however, their styles are almost complete opposites and so i find it hard to compare them. if they were both fit and on form, i would play diaby due to his strength and dribbling, but only in an attacking midfield role, not the deeper role, because his passing can be suspect.
