Welcome to the board with your first post, Emily. Nice to know that Dean Bowditch's mum has now joined us.

    Emily! Welcome!

Another woman on the board - praise be...

I think during the course of the next three months, we're going to be linked with so many players we're going to lose count - however, heed the wise words of Sir Chris and of Michael Slater - this team was assembled to compete in The Championship (or words to that effect) so don't expect too much traffic in before the start of next season.

Ive an inkling this may have been taken from Twitter. His name has been mentioned by a few players at Cafc, as a mate, not sure if there would be anything in it. Not greatest striker...

It seems that Emily is not Dean Bowditch's mum (who is called Debbie) so I can speak my mind without giving offence. Dean Bowditch is the sort of player we might have signed this season now ending, and he would have spent most of it sitting on the bench (at best). He is 25 so there is unlikely to be much further scope for development. I reckon playing for MK Dons will be the peak of his career. If Hayes cannot get a look in in Div One, what chance would Bowditch have in the Championship? We already have Haynes whom I reckon is better. Dean is a decent enough player, but we can do better, and will need to next season.

I don't think we won't be looking at players like Bowditch, more like...

    Vardy (a punt?)
    Kayleigh Osbourne (previous target)
    Matt Ritchie (mentioned B4)
    even....
Rhodes (if Udders don't go up could be a trophy purchase but more likely to go to Prem.)

Jamie Vardy - Would be good but I can see it being a Matt Tubbs / Crawley Town situation where if he was to go then Fleetwood would want some money..

Karleigh Osborne - Is one of the Defenders I could see joining, Pearce from Portsmouth is another and Marcus O. from Colchester the third name.

Matt Ritchie - Would be a great signing.

Jordan Rhodes - People mock but I bet Brighton fans will admit never in their wildest dreams would they have signed Craig Mackail-Smith during last summer, especially with West Ham and big spending Leicester after him.
    --------
Lee Miller or Stuart Beavon - Two attacking players who I'd like to see us sign, Miller has scored 15 goals this season and has made 11 assists for Carlisle, could be a neat lil backup for Yann if need be. Beavon as everyone knows has scored 23 goals this season whilst at Wycombe (and has come from Non-League), the only downside is that he could be a sort of Leon Clarke type risk, i.e. scores lots of clubs for a lower league team but struggles at the top of the league

    Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

Not getting a game at Wolves, and most of us should remember this

Might be a bit of money though, money we don't have, but if we're talking about Rhodes.... and Beavon at Wycombe wouldn't be a no.

I scoffed JA when he mentioned Simon Cox but I have heard he's fed up of warming the bench @ West Brom and that Leicester and Ipswich were interested.

Scored about 30 goals for Swindon in League One before being taken by WBA so he knows where the goal is

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will stay at Wolves I reckon they'll need someone to lead the line when Fletcher and Doyle leave and who better than someone proven at Championship level

Another good young player at Portsmouth is Joel Ward who is a Defender/Defensive Midfielder who scores a few goals

A4L - I think Beavon could be a great signing, 23 goals in league 1 for a team in the bottom 4 is a great return! I thought he was a right handful on saturday and took his goal well.

I was thinking exactly the same thing myself. Looked as though he doesn't mind taking defenders on, which is something we lack. Is Wiggins the only player we have who can take defenders on and go past them?

Do people feel we need a ''marquee'' signing, or is CP doing the right thing going after ''team players''. He appears to be following a similar blueprint to Curbs.

No marquee signings for me, they unbalance the team but they do sate the fans desire for a name. Sooner have a smooth running clockwork mechanism than one with an overstrong mainspring that stops it working properly.

Some of our signings in the past few seasons have been less like marquees and more like pup tents...
