Kick-Off: 12:30pm on Saturday 28Th April CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A SEA OF RED AND WHITE! What this game means: - A win for Southampton will see them promoted back to the Premier League after a seven year absence. They could have sealed promotion on Saturday but slipped up away to Middlesbrough. - However another game happening tonight is Leicester v West Ham, and should West Ham slip up tonight by not winning then that would all but put Saints back into the Premier League! - Coventry were relegated at the weekend having lost 1-0 at home, however that result was meaningless as Bristol City won 2-0 to relegate both Coventry and Portsmouth. Team News: Most likely to be only one change as Chaplow limped off on Saturday with a problem. De Ridder could be back in contention to provide some attacking width to the team. Richardson could also return. I reckon: Davis Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox De Ridder, Hammond, Cork, Lallana Sharp, Lambert Subs: Harding, Martin, Schneiderlin, Guly, Barnard My Predictions: Saints have bounced back time after time after a loss and I truly expect the same to happen as these teams are at opposite ends of the table, and with Coventry having nothing to play for but pride. SAINTS 3-1 Coventry (Lambert (pen), Sharp, De Ridder) The game itself: St Mary's will be rocking as the game is a sell out. 32,500+ fans rocking St Mary's to a victory and finger crossed back to the Premier League! I truly expect to see a sea of red and white as we have done playing at Wembley and previous final games of the season! I would also like to point out another thread that I made on Saturday, I'm sure you can work it out for yourself but it just shows what a fantastic campaign we have had! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/139287-This-season!-lt-ok-gt COYR!
Before this match thread is allowed to be the one for the last and biggest game of the season we need to know your match thread to win ratio? I hope that Nigel plays Morgan from the start and drops Hammond to the bench for this one. Really think we have missed him since his injury and the goals conceded against Pompey, Reading and Boro from just outside the box may well have been closed down by him. Also think that Guly will be played on the right with De Ridder on the bench, other than that I agree with your team.
Defintely, Schneiderlin has been a big miss for us, and people don't realise what he brings to the side
More than enough on the pitch to get the job done. If that lot can't do it, we don't deserve to go up.
That would be my preferred line up plenty of attacking options. I would have De Ridder on the bench as an impact sub but I don't think we are going to need it We are going to rip them apart! 3-0 COYR's We are certainly getting our money's worth season! any more & I will need medical insurance!
People have been saying this all season. I think by now we all know what he brings to the side! Bottom line is, if he is fit, he will start, as has been the case since xmas at least. As for the game, it might not be an entirely smooth ride, but I'm sure we will do what we have to do.
It all comes down to the 11 on the pitch though. If our best 11 can't beat Cov, we don't deserve promotion.
Few weeks back i said schniderlin to score a last min screamer to send us up, bit worrying! looks like it could be coming true D: not sure my nerves could take it
