Last Season Brighton (who I associate with blowing the League apart) only got 95 pts. Season before Norwich similarly ended on 95. In 2010 Leicester City won out with 96. Swansea City were Champions in 2009 with 92. And in 2008 Scunny won with 91. League 1 started in 2004 and I couldn't find the figures for the seasons prior to 2008. But I think this proves our legacy. It shows just how phenomenal a job we've done. It shows this will be talked about for years. I'm immensely proud. Can anyone pass this on to Karl Robinson?
I read somewhere that Fulham won the Division (When it was called Division Two back in the 90s) with 101 points. Think this is the overall record
Luton won 2005 with 98. Southend won 2006 with 82. Scunthorpe won 2007 with 91. So we may very well break the League One point record! Very proud indeed.
Just been on Statto.com to have a browse through the tables back to when it was 2 points for a win... Fulham - 101 points in 1998/99 Wigan Athletic - 100 points in 2002/03 #Luton Town - 98 points in 2004/05 *Charlton Athletic - 97 points in 2011/12 AFC Bournemouth - 97 points in 1986/97 # - Highest Total since League One Formed * - League yet to finish
2010/11 Brighton 95 2009/10 Norwich 95 2008/9 Leicester 96 2007/8 Swansea 92 2006/7 Scunthorpe 91 2005/6 Southend 82 2004/5 Luton 98 2003/4 Plymouth 90 2002/3 Wigan 100 2001/2 Brighton 90
Now that we have the title wrapped up, I think our football will be far more expressive and free. We have done the hard work, now it is time to enjoy and go out with a bang! Therefore, we will win the last two matches and break all records. COYR!
We really should be looking to smash that record. I've done it on Football Manager a few times, so no excuses boys!!
101 is indeed the record, only need a win and a draw to equal it. I said in a thread in Jan that I thought we would beat it. We will be back on MotD in 2 years time boys!
Do you still play Football Manager, SuperC? I ask because I have not played the game once since buying it on the day of its release. Now I am itching to put my management skills to the test, but feel put off by the fact that the transfers, promotions and relegations will the render the game unrealistic. Is there a way of editing the game manually, or by Steam? Do you know if there will be a download for this purpose? Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Ponders - I haven't played for a few months now... But I seem to remember that on the last edition Steam automatically gave me an update after the January transfer window.
Did you buy it via steam, or in store, ponders? If by steam, it will automatically update and you should have Danny Haynes etc. you won't have cook or DNG as their loans are short term. The stats of players should also change slightly to represent our form from earlier in the season.
Thank you, SuperC and Kish. I bought it in store, but loaded it via Steam. I thought all copies had to be loaded via Steam this year? Will the leagues be updated in due course? Or would that damage their sales for the new game in October? I probably should have found the existing FM12 thread for this discussion. Apologies.
The leagues won't update now- so you'll just have to pit your cafc team against the team that is about to break 100 points. Highly recommend the game- best version for a few years now!
I have FM12 via steam , you start with most of the players, but not Haynes, N'guessan, Cook, Russel or Clarke. If you want to edit it, log into your steam account and click on FM12 through your games library, to the right hand side there is a DLC link, on there you can find the editor tool to download, though i recommend using this with caution, the more you tamper with it the more likely it is to corrupt save files. I won league one first attempt, only signed James Beattie on a free and Andros Townsend on a season long loan, absolutely stormed it, lost first two games then undefeated in the league for the rest of the season, broke all records and BWP got top goalscorer/ranking etc. However i didn't win manager of the season and BWP didn't win player of the season, i was not amused
Thanks for the info, Jimmy. SuperC says you can't edit the leagues. But what about this edit facility you mention on Steam? Will I be able to edit the leagues there?
If you are manually doing it, you can edit the leagues. It's slightly tricky and time consuming as you'll have to start at the bottom as you can't leave a league a team down (you'll know what I mean when your doing it). I thought you was asking if Steam change the league via patches, my apologies.
No problem, SuperC. I think my initial post was a bit confusing. I did mean patches, though. I shall take a look later and see what is what. I think I know what you mean about not leaving the leagues short. I take it you need to be online to do any editing via Steam?
