congratulations to Kyle Walker...refreshing to see a defender win something as oppose to attackers.

He also made it into the Premier league's team of the year along with our very own Scott Parker and Gareth Bale.

full team of the year is :-

    Joe Hart (Man City)
    Kyle Walker (Tottenham)
    Vincent Kompany (Man City)
    Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle)
    Leighton Baines (Everton)
    David Silva (Man City)
    Yaya Toure (Man City)
    Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
    Scott Parker (Tottenham)
    Robin van Persie (Arsenal)
    Wayne Rooney (Man Utd)

    Well done Kyle <applause>

.....and cue the ridicule from the Spurs haters, even though they sometimes forget the list is voted by the players themselves.

  4. Well done Kyle - and good words from him about 'winning cups with Spurs'!
He has played 33/34 PL games this season so the kid has an excuse to look a bit tired. I feel exhausted watching him run!!

Kyle deserved it, really pleased for him.

That PL team of the year looks like proof that United and Arsenal are one man teams to me <run>

Walker's performances have generally been of a very high standard this season and he deserves this award.
It's a shame that we didn't rest him on a few occasions so that he was facing the run in with a little more freshness, though.
He played for the England U21s in the summer and impressed, plus he'll either be going to the Euros or the Olympics, so he'll have no rest this summer, either.

  7. Wow! Three Spurs players and only one Arsenal player...

Makes our decline even more tragic, doesn't it!

Thank you, Mr Redknap for your contribution!

    yes and no

yes he has scored alot of goals.

Walker was immense as far as right backs are concerned with great attacking play and solid defensive displays..dont forget these votes were made before our collapse so makes sense and im glad people who voted dont just look at goals scored in order to determine whether someone is good or not.

    Aguero shouldn't even be eligible.
The award's supposed to be for young, emerging talent.
The Argentinian's nearly 24 and he cost City £35m.

It's for players that are 23 and under at the start of the season, Ammaar.
He qualifies, but I don't think that it's in the spirit of the award.

Why should Aguero win it, anyway?
Walker's arguably been the best player in his position in the league. Perhaps Sagna and Ivanovic would be his main competition for that position, but the former missed quite a lot of football.
Aguero hasn't been the best player in his position. I doubt that anyone would argue that he has.

Did anyone notice Ched Evans sneaking into the League 1 Team of the Year?
    Poorly timed.

  12. This is the only award that the players themselves actually give any credence to.

To make sure he won the award, Harry had him play 43 times thus far this season...

It's not like we own any other right-backs, though... <whistle>
