From the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17800108 It doesn't help but it means a return to that spirit of '89. COYG, let's leave the chasing pack where they belong - behind !!!
We're quite thin. This would be my formation for the remaining games: -------------Scz---------------- --------Kos-----Verm--------- -Sagna---------------Gibs---- ------------Song-------------- -----Rosicky----Benny------- --Oxo-------------Gervinho-- -----------RVP---------------- Song needs to play a more traditional DM role for this to work. Diaby and Santos regular subs. P.S. I know this is wishful thinking and Wenger will start Ramsey any chance he gets :/. He has too much hype invested in him.
That's a little to attacking Gent. I would leave Gervinho out (very low on confidence) ad move Benny (or Diaby) up to the front 3, then play Coquelin in with Song.
The reason for that formation is that we can't afford to 'experiment' with Diaby and Coquelin. It could go great with either of them, but it could be disastrous as well. Those players I picked have had game time, and were at the very least 'solid' throughout. Rosicky can cover a bit defensively, he tracks back well and has good tackles. Song needs to be told to not go forward as much as there is no Arteta to cover for him.
And as you've pointed out in the other thread the teams we will face are good at set plays. We need to out-score them, not rely on clean sheets. IMO at least.
diaby managed to come on off the bench and finish the game for once! could be a good sign for next season.
Glad Benayoun will be able to play in midfield. At least that's something. There aren't many more games to come. I just want this season to end, now!
-------------Scz---------------- --------Kos-----Verm--------- -Sagna---------------Gibs---- ------------Song-------------- -----Rosicky----Diaby------- --Oxo-------------Benayaoun- -----------RVP----------------
As much as I've criticised Diaby, I'm wouldn't mind seeing him play. Although he was poor against Chelsea, he didn't cost us, and there were signs of potential form in his play. Then again, Gervinho showed the same promise of form when he came on, reminiscent of how he was at the start of the season. So I'd be happy with either of them coming in. JUST AS LONG AS RAMSEY DOESN'T PLAY! Dear God don't let it happen!
Either that or play Gerv in Benyouns place, and play Benayoun in place of Diaby, who can start on the bench.
I thought Diaby was decent against Chelsea when he came on, so he should start, and Benayoun should keep his place (from before the chelsea game)
His physical strength may be useful against Stoke actually... Benayoun is a little weak against a hefty Stoke midfield.
i would still persist with ramsey but in am not in cm with rosicky in cm. In some matches i would switch with coquelin as cm and rosicky in am i feel coq has great potential
