Brix, I would have thought you, Swords, Col and Sooper would be the last to be in any 'fickle' club ( not that I have access to the membership criteria), as you have all been very consistent and thoughtful since pre season. It's the guys who flip flop in up/ down, player X ****/ genius from week to week who are the 'fickle' in my view, and the ones who seem to be enjoying the struggles of the team or individual players ( remember the vicious anti Barton stuff until very recently?) I have consciously taken the rose tinted option especially second half of the season, mainly because I enjoy following the Rs in this frame of mind, really think every match is a new start. But I am self aware enough to know that this is an irrational and occasionally ludicrous stance to take.....we're all Rs to the core in the end.
We'll win at Chelsea and beat Stoke ( you wouldn't expect me to say anything different would you?)

Cheers Swords - have you heard anything from James the One recently? We have a pact to start apology threads - he if we stay up, me if we go down, and I want to remind him in a very public way. He's an irritating old scrote, but hope he's ok.....

Yes SB, how is old James? Another of the wonderfully 'off the wall' characters that make our board so diverse and entertaining...

Na ain't heard from him. He had a Sabbatical before so I'm sure he'll be back soon. It would be great to see him squiggle out of that one if we stay up!

There seems to be two distinct camps emerging on this board: The Fickle's and the Delusional's with one or two, including yourself, kind of neutral and keeping the peace.

Whether we stay up or go down, I can foresee some missiles being launched at each other before we settle down for the Summer break.

Great post as usual Stan. Nice balanced perspective on our different ways of coping with our various dilemmas. It seeks to bind us as Rs rather than polarising us on the strength of 'told you so's' relating to improbable results.

How many of us will be so sure of results in our remaining games that they have no concerns at all? Some maybe, but most will be worried as hell before the games and scornful following any defeat. (Not me though... I just sulk and skulk silently in a corner for a few days until some other sun dawns in my little world! Pathetic innit?!!)

Stoke will certainly be a tough game - and probably tougher in one respect compared to Chelsea and City - simply because the pressure will be on us to win - rather than the likes of our last few home games.

Glad to see that rangers have ditched that orange kit and we are playing our last 2 away games in Red and White quarters!
Think that orange kit was unlucky

Stoke match will be a tough nut and we need that same attitude as we had in our four latest home match. They have nothing to play for but will come on us hard (football term;)) Still ,im certain that we will play A very good match at stamford bridge. If that performance give us anypoints it would be just bonus.

Agree we are all saying 3 points against Stoke but that game will be tough and we should not think they will roll over 'Gerry' or not.

I agree with all of this Brix, but would just like to add that we will win our three remaining games 1-0. A Quattro of back to back wins. Vorsprung Durch Tecknik.

I don't think anybody on here is exactly taking Stoke for granted, its just that in recent weeks we have beaten Liverpool, Arsenal, Swansea and Spuds at home. This has given our fans realistic hope that at home we will be more than a match for anybody. We all know that Stoke will be tough. They have become an established Prem team for a reason, they are difficult to beat. Swords you are right of course, lets concentrate fully on the scum and see can MH devise a team plan to get something over at SB.

We will beat Stoke we have to its part if the job that needs to happen
But first we need to beat Chelsea
How the hell some are going to cope if we need to beat Man City I don't know but like all our options it could happen
The game the team the club will be now focusing on next Sunday nothing else ... Into the jaws of hell
To discuss Stoke now is fickle completely as no one knows what teams we will both have by then
If there was a better time to ram one game at a time into people's heads its now .

If we get ANY points from Chelsea it would be much more relaxing to play against Stoke. Anyway it is nightmare week to scum. Firstly Barcelona away and then against the mighty "rrrr'sss".
