Well there is no comparison really. It must be time to recall agent ashley. He has refused to bow down to fan pressure and quickly got rid of shearer when he demanded £2 million pound to manage newcastle and ashley very swiftly realised he was rubbish. Cut their wage bill and got a load of good players on the cheap and actually saved newcastle both on and off the field. Now he may even lead them into a CL place. On the other hand their agent Bruce (same shape as agent oso for those who have to endure childrens tv with the young un's) basically totally decimated Sunderland, deliberately lost derby games ( and became the most popular man in newcastle whilst laughing his obese backside off. In fact we have been outwitted by agent bruce and agent ashley who i now suspect is a double agent.

Some people just cant seem to grasp how this whole "agent" thing works. Its not that difficult really. If anything , Ashley would be a spurs agent.

but then we are actually three points ahead of spurs <diva>

I did like the part about being a double agent though, was funny. Still doesnt work though.

I see Pardew has come out and said the fans need to give Mike Ahsley some credit.

Some credit! They need to crawl on their bellies and beg forgiveness if u ask me. He saved the club from a fate worse than Portsmouth. Bankruptcy and beyond. He has cleared out the failing big time Charlie's at the club. He is trying to create wealth for Newcastle so the can compete. He has turned the debt around. Throughout this time he has been derided by many Newcastle fans. I have a colleague who still refuses to go back to the SDA until Ashley leaves!!!!!! Unbelievable. The amount of personal abuse he has had from the Newcastle fans, well I can only imagine what Steve Bruce would make of it.

Not just the Newcastle fans but plenty of pundits have slagged Ashley too. Clearly he made mistakes but these same pundits now hold the Newcastle formula up a shining light as do their short memory fans. Credit indeed to MR Ashley. Big shame to the Newcastle fans. They should all have a huge slice of humble pie and admit he was right, they were wrong!

He has done well given that he has taken several gambles and they have paid off. There is still an inherent mistrust of MA though. No denying he saved us from going under, but had he done due diligence correctly, he probably would have run a mile.

Either way, we are doing well this season but this Summer could prove to be the ultimate acid test.

Ha'way qwop! Surely Ashley has earned trust.

He himself has admitted he made mistakes and in the beginning trusted the wrong people.

He still has to stick with making the club profitable and working for it's self.

It's a tricky time for Ashley I have no doubt Newcastle fans will be demanding major investment. As we Sunderland fans would like to see O'Neill backed. However Ashley has to stick to his guns and not get carried away putting Newcastle back in the perilous position they were in under Shepperd (the true villain of the price).

It all needs to be sustainable. Newcastle team should only need tweaking in the summer. If the players don't want to stay at Newcastle after the season they have had then they are to blame not Ashley. Daft money offered like Carroll money again Ashley would be right to sell.

The way he has operated since relegation has been admirable. However, the bigger clubs may circle around out best players and may tempt Mike in to selling. If we hold onto our players and add a couple then my trust level goes way up. We don't demand players like Hazard or Goetze (although that would be nice) all we want is a sign we are going to be ambitious! Anyway we will see this summer.

You are close to making champions league. Ambition was shown in signing Cisse. I think he was the biggest signing in the prem in Jan'. surely when u were 6th ambition was shown?

Keep it real. Very difficult at the top to compete wages wise with City, united, Chelsea Tottenham. Even Liverpool., look where Villa are after throwing money at top 4 attempts.

Not saying you will make top 4 I think you have the toughest run in. But at least you are there. ALL credit to Ashley.

I agree with you but my point is, selling the big priced players and bringing in relative unknowns does have risks! One day it will bite us on the backside. We need to add to the squad, not break parts of it up! If we can keep the core, then I am confident Ashley is on the right path but one can only be certain after August 31st

Clearly Ashley has had faith in the people he has brought in. This scout Carr you all claim to be a god, who brought him in. I don't know if it was Ashley.

Any player u sign is a gamble. Ashley did right to unload noble, Barton etc. I dare beat your team spirit has increased massively now they are gone. Same with Carroll.

It could go wrong next season or you could dip and finish 10th. Would 10th be bad? I'm sure you would have taken that at the start of the season.

We all know the allure of the so called big clubs. Like I said earlier some players may want to go and this day and age there is not much u can do to stop them. Didn't Keegan himself say you couldn't compete with the top 4 yet here you are. I don't think Ashley would sell your best 5 players though.

I will apologise if that happens and chuckle as well but it won't happen
