Was watching the match in the pub yday and actually I didn't get angry when we lost abit disappointed that's all. I thought it was an even match against decent side and at points we played some great stuff. Like Pompey two quality finishes were our undoing but that's life. I may be over optimistic but how I saw it was there were 3 points we could up yesterday monday or Saturday. I now think it will be Saturday which in a way will be nice as it gives everyone a chance to join the party. If we threw this away it would be heart wrenching but I just don't for a second believe that I've been certain of going up since palace. Also well done sharpy he's on fire! Bought in to get goals and hea fast approaching double figures great effort reapply pleased for him.
Agree Sharp has done rather well, especially as i was a little harsh to him after the blackpool game. Im beginning to calm down a little after being furious yesterday. At least its in our hands i suppose. COYR and Come on Leicester!!
Always had confidence that Sharp would come good. He knows how to put the ball in the net. As mush as I support Nigel, I didn't like him picking Lee - and then Guly - ahead of Sharp. Nothing against those guys - Lee seems to run his socks off - but I prefer to go with whoever is most likely to score a goal. And of the three of them, it's perfectly clear to me who that person is. Another couple of goals vs Coventry are coming his way. Think that will take him up to a round ten for us. Decent achievement, considering he only signed on Jan 30th.
I thought I would be annoyed too, but not that fussed. Three results have to go against us for us not to go up, and I'm confident we can do the job. I would have liked to have done it by our own means, but a west ham draw tomorrow will do just fine.
Not annoyed with the players but I was absolutely furious with the referee. He bottled the big (and clear cut) decision, gave a free kick that never was which led to their winner and the linesman wrongly decided the ball was out of play when we could have gone 2 up.
[I'm actually not that annoyed!!] Sorry, there's being positive and there's being high on drugs. I just want this settled on Monday and go and enjoy the Coventry game. I don't want to be listening out for the Hammer's result whilst we struggle to score...been through that a few time in the PL. I am confident we could beat Coventry if this was middle of the season, but can just feel this slipping away as West ham get a couple of jammy wins...we no longer have a large GD as a cushion. Sorry guys, I am just going to get some liquid confidence...otherwise known as a G and T.
Indeed, you were trotting out your catchphrase of bottling it..! We had a thread, earlier in the season, on how we wanted Saints to finish the season. There were people who wanted us to be promoted AND relegate Pompey at the same time; there were people who wanted it all wrapped up at the earliest opportunity, etc... And finally, there were many that wanted Saints to achieve promotion on the very last day of the season. It looks as if Saints are doing all they can to achieve that scenario. So this has all been an arrangement.
We should all know by now that we never do things the easy way! Perfect for Sky though, no-one would have watched tomorrows game if we had won at BOro.
