the problem with Muntari was he was to good for us. You could tell just watching him his first touch and everything about him showed why he was a good player the problem was he just couldn't be arsed for us. I think players like that seem to think they are better than everyone else (when playing for a team like us) maybe an arrogance problem but when players aint on there wave length (poor players compared to the likes both Milan clubs have) then the can't be ***** attitude sets in. As for players going and apart from the one's named at the top of the page anyone else think Meyler could be off on loan? We need IMO GK - someone to play third choice to Mig and Westwood RB - someone who can challenge Bardsley for it shirt if not make the spot there own. LB - with Bridge gone and talk of Richardson off then a left back is certainly required CM - someone with a bit of creativity W - need someone direct with pace for the RW CF - replacement for Bendtner CF - replacement for Gyan if he goes players we should be looking at Nathaniel Clyne, Taye Taiwo, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Victor Moses
Summer signings: Taye Taiwo Matt Phillips Junior Hoillet Gylfi Sigurdsson Steven Fletcher and get ready for it, I'll prob be called deluded etc. lol but: Nilmar! Villareal are having an awful season and he could be our marquee signing.
Poolie... GK - Jamie Ashdown, Pompey, Cracking reflex keeper, for peanuts, could challenge for number 1 spot. RB - Struggling here, but don't think this is a major problem area. LB - Martin Olsson, Blackburn, excellent, quick, underrated, friend of Seb. CM - Sigurddson, Sporting, everything we need, at £8-12million though, we probs have no chance W - Easy, we must try for the outstanding Junior Hoillett, if this fails, although if Villa went, Marc Albrighton impresses me also CF - Keep Bendtner, that's 1. CF - Gyan's replacement? Soloman Kalou? I think playing every week goals and class will come, he knows the league as well. He's a long shot, of course, Yakubu would be excellent, but of course he is approaching 70, so we'd still be looking for a replacement within 2 years max. Matty Phillips, as mentioned by TVI is cracking, and a goal scorer from the right, he is very similar in approach to Hoillett.
Be a great signing in name, but a **** signing in practice IMO. Couldn't see him working in England, personally.
oh ok, as for the list of players you put all of them would be good additions IMO apart from Yakubu, I know he has had a good season but surely we can do better? I personally think the best we can do is some African mush playing in Asia who likes to dance. Don't think we can do better than Gyan and we need to do all we can to get him back, forget about the reason he left if we could get him in the form we all know he is capable of he is better than Yakubu, Bendtner, Fletcher, Doyle, Agbonlahor or anyone linked
We have to get our hands on some quality now. You can do it relatively cheaply if you know where to look (e.g. the mags) and hopefully MON has been busy on this front already. Most obvious places are still LB and striker and I hope we do something in this area soon.
the mags have done it looking into europe but will we? The likes of Cabaye and Ben Arfa have been at big clubs in the french league. Didn't Lille win the league last season so these players know whats its like to be at the top end of a decent league and have been signed for a similar price as a bottom half average prem player. Another reason why abroad gets the nod over buying from the prem Didn't we sign Gardner for more than Cabaye and Ben Arfa (obv. not there combined price) and both of them are streets ahead of our player
See, why would you think we could do better than Yakubu. We could hvae, his name was Pappis Demba Cisse, but as per we dragged our feet for 18 months and ****ed it up. Yakubu has 104 goals in 250 games in England, he is cast iron proven as a goalscorer. We're a mid-table English club with no Euro football mate, a one in every 2.5 games striker, with this record sustained over NINE years, is a good signing. The likes of Abdellouae, Toivenen, Gignac etc probably went with the desire of our players to push on for 7th. On Africans and left backs, Tiene of PSG is a good player, and likely to be moved on.
What mignt happen we will be 10th before the last match then lose and finish 14th!, i hope not. Bolton h 2-1 Fulham a 1-1 Man u (title decider?) 47,000 cracking atmosphere 4-4. O shea, Brown, Rico, and Wellbeck own goal. And Man c win the title on goal difference.
City to win on goal difference.....if only Carslberg did footy title contenders...........pure genius, Monty.
If bolton go down I'd like us to go for chung yong lee, think we could get him relatively cheap, slipped under the radar at bit at bolton, and just when he started to come into prominence took a bad injury. He's only young and a cracking player, I think when he's back to full fitness he coud be a very god buy us. Also, he's south korean, which hels with what the club is trying to do there, and also would provide a friend for ji, maybe help him settle a bit?
How about we sign Ba?! Just a thought like....we were in for him before but Westham reported us etc.....£7m clause in his contract and we could err....triple his wages!...He's not happy playing 2nd fiddle to Cisse so who knows...
