http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17800877 Ally McCoist admits Rangers "are in the wrong" as they face up to potential disciplinary action but the manager has urged the authorities to be "fair". Rangers await the Scottish FA's verdict into alleged rule breaches. And there may be further investigation into the club's conduct relating to how players were paid over the last decade. "We are in no position to make demands to anybody, least of all the SFA," said McCoist following the 3-0 win against Hearts at Tynecastle. "We are in the wrong so we have to go and abide by the decisions that are taken upon us. "We're just hopeful that the powers that be are - I'm loathed to use the word sympathetic - but realistic of the situation. "A lot of the problems that we're in aren't down to the club, the majority of problems that we're faced with at the moment are down to individual mistakes and individual errors within the club. Use accessible player and disable flyout menus "And we can only hope that the SFA or the SPL are, not lenient as such, but are fair with us because we are in the wrong and we deserve to take whatever we get but we just hope that there's a bit of fairness about the whole thing." The protracted process of appointing a preferred bidder to take Rangers out of administration could accelerate next week with Paul Murray's Blue Knights and American Bill Miller keen to assume control of the club. Murray wants to achieve a company voluntary arrangement, where creditors would accept a fraction of the amounts they are due, while Miller is known to favour a hybrid takeover that involves transferring assets to a new company and trying to achieve a CVA with the existing company. "Hopefully we can push things forward," said McCoist. "We need to get the ball rolling, Monday can come soon enough. The most important thing is we do get a suitable resolution. It has to be sooner rather than later. "What an ideal situation for me was and always has been and always will be is the same for the majority of fans and that would be to come out of administration through a CVA." Meanwhile, McCoist would like to offer a new contract to Andy Little, who netted in the 3-0 win at Hearts. "Andy Little has had a heck of a tough time with injuries [and has] come back from serious career-threatening injuries," added the manager. "He will always make something happen. He's chipped in with more than his fair share of goals already this season. "I'm very, very hopeful that we can get him something offered. "I don't think anyone can deny that we deserved the victory. "I definitely thought we were worthy of the three points." You know whats fair and honest. Any newco starts in div 3 like all the rest and as for improperly registering players, all results overturned to a 3-0 defeat which means relegation and titles stripped and redistributed. Honesty and integrity, my arse, really don't understand any sympathy for them. They cheated and should face the consequences. Typical glory hunter isn't prepared to support the club through there dark days. It was also worth noting duff and phelps logging legal action against craig whytes lawyers. How does mr clark explain the conflict of interest he has as he was the one who advise in the takeover and is now the one to prepare a report on craig whyte and also provided financial advice in novemeber. How does he explain the alleged fraud that has happened to ticketus? Why didn't he inform them of what was going on? Sure sell to ticketus and the problem goes away but the doesn't appear to represent the best deal for the creditors. You can bet Craig Whyte will have dirt on Mr Clark and if the report is damming then he'll take him down with him.
I'm loathed to use the word sympathetic - But he uses it anyway "A lot of the problems that we're in aren't down to the club, the majority of problems that we're faced with at the moment are down to individual mistakes and individual errors within the club." So how does he think Rangers should be dealt with by the SFA - without punishing the club?
A lot of Rangers fans think they can separate David Murray and Craig Whyte from the club as if all the blame should be apportioned to individuals rather than Rangers FC itself. They shared in the joys of nine in a row under Murray and they were there in numbers to watch Whyte unveil the title flag at the beginning of the season. There was no "them and us" then. Fairness would be paying back every penny that the club owes.
Yeah how exactly is it punishing the fans? There not being barred from any games and ticket prices aren't being increased. So what if they have to play in the 3rd division welcome to the reality for the stranrear, clyde etc fans.
When a team is relegated that is "unfair" on the fans of the relegated team, so should the club be allowed to avoid relegation because it's not fair on the fans? Besides, you simply cannot seperate the fans from the club, the club gets punished when the fans misbehave so I don't see why the fans should not be punished if the club acts improperly.
U understand what Alli McCoist is saying when he asks the SFA to go lenient on Rangers. But really is their any need for him to say that. They haven't gone away you know ( Rangers people in key positions) Campbell Og is still there looking after their interests and probably his own. No doubt Campbell Og is a founder member of the the Rangers EBTers club. The SFA and all governance in Scotland have been lenient towards Rangers virtually since the year they were formed. Fat Sally knows it too and that is why he is almost ashamed to beg again.
We'll soon see what the sfa are made of with there investigation into paying players outwith the contracts lodged with the SPL/SFA. They can rewrite rules to bring a newco in but they can't rewrite the rules on this. When they are found guilty its bye bye titles and relegation as well because all those results will become void. They have no way to hide from this one, although im sure they are looking what they can do.
eric, I hope you are right, but in the past we often thought we had them where we wanted them. Campbell Og will see them all right.
Well unless Jm Farry himself conduct's the investigation i can't see how they can get off. They admitted to paying players outwith contracts against spl rules. This isn't some admin error, rangers knew the rules and knew why its an important rule, to stop any team gaining an advantage. The punishments are already in place as well automatic 3-0 defeats for every game the players took part in. If they had just followed this rule they wouldn''t be in the mess they are currently in, as they wouldn't have been able to do the ebt scheme.
eric.................. I would love to share your optimism. I remember a time when most people thought you could believe referees and his assistants but after last season and again this season, re Game in Ibrox lies again. My faith in the fairness of Scottish Football was never stroong, but it is a hell of a lot weaker now.
I think today is the way forward , keep Lennon in main stand , let's be honest you get a far better view of the game, than at the touchline Then all these sad people in our country , whose main aim is to hate him , will have nothing to complain about !!!
Motherwell fans are not the most welcoming of fans. They showed when two of our coloured players warmed up. Rangers posters thought that it was right to criticise Celtic fans for behaving like that over 20 years ago. Really although it was the done thing years ago and of course it was wrong then. You would expect M'well fans to have moved on. However all is not bad with the M'well fans, our manager who could not get a safe seat at Ibrox, after a series of lies from among the referee and his officials, mean't that Neil had to wrongly leave the touchline.
