Leave the booze alone Tash, it makes you say things you'll end up regretting, especially if you finish 5th.
It's interesting now that Newcastle are well and truly in the battle (and maybe even odds on) for 3rd of 4th place. Before, I had to settle for the lesser of two evils and therefore hoped Chelsea would come fourth and Spurs fifth, with us in third off course. Now, us in third and Newcastle fourth with Chelsea failing to progress in the Nou Camp and then coming fifth would be the ideal situation. I can even stomach coming fourth if it's Newcastle in third. Spurs ending up without European football will be one of the biggest bottle jobs in prem history.
After Pool and Chelsea made the FA Cup final, Spurs are pretty much guaranteed a Europa League spot. Even if they finish 6th.
I cant see newcastle winning many of their last 3 to be honest. They should beat wigan but after that their matches look HARD.
I think we can take something from Chelsea. I think if City are still within reaching distance of united, we'll find it difficult to compete with City, but if the title is already Uniteds, then I think we can hammer City. Everton away should be interesting.
If the title is indeed gone, then the City players could play without the pressure and I do not necessarily think you want that. If they just enjoy the game then they could display their attacking power. Against us they played with fear and we took advantage.
Here is my take: Newcaslte: Wigan (a) - Win Chelsea (a) - Lose City (h) - Lose Everton (a) - Draw All hard games though. Newcastle messed up at home to wolves really. That could cost them. Spuds: Blackburn (h) - Win Bolton (a) - Win Villa (a) - Draw FUlham (h) - Draw Chelski - imo will lose 3-0 mid week but win the cup QPR (h) - Win Newcaslte (h) - Win Liverpool (a) - Draw Bburn (h) - Win That would leave: Newcastle - 66 points Spuds - 67 points Chelski - 68 points Meaning I think we need another 4 points to secrue 3rd. I think we will get 6 or 9 points in our last 3 Of course this is speculation but I have been generous in the points our rivals will pick up so I must say 4 points and we will be fine, 6 and 3rd is deffo ours imo.
I have to strongly disagree with this claim. They showed lack of desire and energy when it was their title to lose, and their poor mentality IMO is why they lost their big lead over United. When their form started slipping, their heads dropped and there was no spark. They are not the sort of players I'd say would play better with less to fight for. Their squad is almost full of over payed players that will be focusing on their summer holidays. We will have it all to play for, they could have nothing really to play for. I mean for gods sake, Mancini himself said that if they didn't win at Arsenal the push of the title was over. What sort of mentality must they have in the dressing room? A manager giving up on the title! wow! Anyways, if they have nothing to play for, It still wont be easy but I think we can nick it or get a result.
Both of Wolves goals were lucky though. Their first girl was a deflected shot, complete fluke. Their 2nd goal bounced around between a load of players and dropped so kindly for Doyle. But yeah that result could cost us but so could being unlucky and conceding last minute vs Arsenal. If we had have held on for one more minute we'd be level on points with Arsenal in 3rd! Man!
Well I think it will all ride on the chelsea newcaslte match. If you can get something in that then you have to be well in with a shout of 4th. I was generous with my spuds points haul just to do a worst case scenario. However in reality I think they are in freefall and will struggle whoever they play right now.
I see Newcastle either drawing or beating Chelsea I see Newcastle losing to City I see Newcastle drawing-beating Everton at the end of the day, it's in Newcastle's hand's to end in the top 4, I hope they can do it.
I didn't take him seriously when he said that, thought it was mind games and he'd be in the dressing room telling his squad it was all to play for. Were he serious though... sheesh!
