-------------------- I thought we'd do the teams with 2 hats today - one with player names in and the other with positions. I did have Brad up front but he put up a real fight - said something about him 'being a goalkeeper' - he should have gone up front, he let in a goal. -------------------- Something like that?
He can't. He's not registered. Our forward line's a mess. It doesn't work when Adebayor's not playing, as Defoe and Saha don't complement each other or van der Vaart. How nobody saw that coming in January is just ludicrous.
I mean this in the most serious way possible, and I'm not "throwing my toys out of the pram" because of the result.... but that is our season over now. newcastle appear to be unstoppable and have momentum, which is so important right now. Chelsea have a new found confidence under Di Matteo, and arsenal have a decent lead with so few points left available. I just hope to god we can finish 6th and not 5th. We don't want another europa campaign next season, like this seasons! it was a total waste of time.
I don't think that it's possible for us to avoid a Europa League campaign, not that I'd want to. A manager that knows how to use a squad would make it a positive thing.
Just like the post above saying Gio should start the next game - why the **** not? This team has absolutely crumbled. Believing their own hype? Thinking that just knocking it about on the half-way line is good enough. I'd keep Parker, Sandro and VDV in. And that's being generous. All the rest of them can be dropped as far as I'm concerned. This is Ramos form. Earlier in this thread I said we were the second worst worst team in the league right now. But I'm sure Wolves would LOVE the opportunity to play us now - anyone would. And I just knew we would not score today. VDV and Defoe: why change a never-winning formula?
I think it's U21 homegrown players, CS. They do need to be registered too, but they don't take up a place. Harry Kane's not a lead the line striker, either. What happened to Lancaster? Came on for a bit and looked ok, only to disappear into the wilderness again. Not even worth a place on the bench?
Most important person at Spurs now: Daniel Levy. We had a great chance to make concrete progress this season - start to establish ourselves as a CL team, keep our best players and attract some of the best from elsewhere. Now we will not have European football at all, probably, we will have no manager and players will want to leave when the bids come in. Daniel Levy is going to have to play an absolute blinder to prevent this from being the end of a mini-era when Spurs looked like they could be a proper team again and consistently mix it with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and finish above them. I am seeing another few years of mid-table dross as being a distinct possibility...
They're quite hamstrung by the law, though. Their hearts were probably in the right place for this one, for once.
I honestly expected nothing from that game. And yet it has still managed to kill my hopes. How the hell can that happen? I am now looking forward to Harry going to England. There - I've said it. Don't know if it's knee-jerk. Doesn't feel like it right now. I'm even thinking about how we'd be mad to turn down £80-90m for Bale and Modric. Any half-decent scouting network should be able to improve the team with that. Oh hang on - this is Spurs.
I'm still not sure you're right PNP. If you check out this link( www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1297855/New-25-man-Premier-League-squad-rule-big-earners-sitting-out.html) (can't link it because I'm on my phone) says it can be anyone under 21, not just English. Any FM players will know my version of what I think the rules are, are the ones in the game.
