Can't argue with that. How many forward do we want in an ideal world?

Can't we just do a season long loan if permanent is an issue? Keeping Mannone as number 1 must be the clubs priority - he already has an excellent understanding with our defence. Out of current options, no one seems better than Mannone in my opinion.

If Folan was worth a million as a striker ,mannone is well worth that fee as a keeper, I like Vito and to be fair I think Vito and Kirkland fighting for the top spot would only be a good thing, I say Kirkland as I've heard the deal is done, so the swiss guy who knows

To be fair I can't blame them, they'll see it as an unnecessary expense considering we can easily snap up two very competent keepers on a free.

So Vito will cost us £1 million plus whatever in wages, Kirkland and the other one (can't remember how to spell his name) will cost whatever in wages plus signing-on fee (does this still happen - sorry for appearing stupid). So perhaps Mr Allam has looked at the finances and said that if we want Vito we can't afford a player in a different position (say a back-up for Koren - which we surely need for one). There is a budget due to the financial regulations coming in, plus Mr Allam is no (no matter how much we wished he had the pockets of) Bill Gates or Duke of Westminister and considering how much he has already put into the club.

I would say £1million for mannone is very good business and something the allams should seriously consider. We've needed a no.1 for a good couple of seasons now and its the one thing the allams & pearson for that matter have not taken care of.

but as the above poster said, its much much cheaper to just sign kirkland and that swiss/bosnian keeper on a free and spend the "mannone money" elsewhere... not sure if there's a right answer here...

In an ideal situation I would like to see us sign 2 new strikers + keep Fryatt. Sell Maclean + Simpson to raise some funds

Not worth £1m when you can get Kirkland & Jakupovic for nothing. If we have money we could do to use it on a striker more than a keeper.

I wouldn't mind if we brought mannone in for another loan and bought jakupavic in for back up. How long has Mannone got left on his Arsenal contract ?
