Please contribute your genuine thoughts of Stevie G. His career is now coming to an end and his chances of being selected for England are deteriorating.

I thought it was you lot who needed a center back? Rio being injured a lot and no real cover for him. (Genuine question)

Dou regard him that highly then? He hasn't got much experience yet, he looks a decent player but would you be happy with him starting every week?

I'd prefer a fit Rio but would take a highly promising Smalling after that. He's inexperienced I agree but putting in very good performances and getting good reviews. Could be a bargain long term. Thanks to Roy!!!

Happier than if he was Skrtel! <ok> And given Lescott's dire showing for England yesterday, it's only a matter of time before he gets his first full England cap.

Wasn't a dig at him SWARBS I'd prefer a lot of center backs to Skrtel, although he has improved lately.

Yeah he dives once every 20 games, what's you point? United players never do...

As it happens i think both our teams are pretty good for not diving. As for Chelsea...

I know, I didn't take it as a dig. I was making the point that Smalling comes out very well when compared to a lot of team's third choice centre backs. And having a little dig of my own <ok>

I'd prefer him to Koscielny, Lescott and Bassong as well.

I think the point is that Gerrard has famously given interviews where he claimed that divers are ruining the game. Doesn't look good for him that he's one of the divers, although admittedly not the worst offender.

Interview most players and they'll say them same, somehow we are supposed ot take the word of people with more money than sense and I think the poster of this thread needs to send Gerrard a letter or something as he needs to get it off his chest, this has been pointed out 3 years ago. Time to let it go by now I reckon before we start listing the divers in both teams:)

I am fairly certain Fergie came out against such diving, whilst telling his players to do it at the same time, according to Jap, so, who cares

So what, players say a lot of things. You're a sucker if you dive, and you're a sucker if you don't whilst others profit.

We all know players say what the public want them to here. Nothing in it.
