Bah. Let's hope the Jerry crashes out on the first corner and he can shove his finger up his Teutonic arse!
Whats up with the Mercedes, Schumacher apparently had a DRS flap that wouldn't open. Nico locked up slightly on his lap. What a waste of great opportunity for that team. Well done to RedBull and Mclaren respectively.
Mclaren saying they set the car up for race pace is interesting... it's going to come down to the start. I'm rather aware that I ominously proposed that the dirty side of the grid is pretty much a death sentence.
Vettel!! Brilliant performances from Ricciardo and Kovalainen. Can't wait for the race tomorrow, thought Red Bull looked best in race trim and would've been pleased with 3rd for Vettel today. Mercedes had an absolute shocker, third time this season Rosberg has underperformed at the crucial moment, he set a quicker lap than that yesterday. Looking forward to seeing what Schumacher can salvage in the race.
Mclaren have been working on race setup the entire weekend, so 2nd and 4th in quali is good for them and they should be very strong in the race.
Hamilton set his car up for the race in China and wasn't very quick in the race. I think Rosberg's tyres will overheat quickly and he'll hold up those behind him, leaving the top 4 ahead to fight for the win. With tyre management so important tomorrow, Button and Vettel will be in a better position than their teammates.
Like he has gone on holiday and lost his virginity with his mates. No I am happy for him, he is a top class athlete and driver. They just got everything right, I have a thought that Mercedes may have gone for a full race setting? Not too hard on the tyres tomorrow. Love to watch MSC onboard cam from the start.
Hamilton did say he set his car up for race pace in China but he wasn't often in clan air, he seemed to spend a lot of time with a car to overtake. 2nd is where he would have started without the gearbox issue and he would have had a good chance of victory. Now they have set the car up again for race pace and he can actually keep 2nd this time around. Does anyone know haw bad the dirty side is here, I imagine with the sand its quite bad. And I bet there are no support races here either. Has anyone got speed trap figures?
I think he'll be about 7th or 8th. He's a good starter, so he should be up to about 13-14th after L1. Then gain a few positions through pitstops and whatever.
There are GP2 races here. Speed traps times in quali. please log in to view this image Vettel needs to make sure he gets out of the DRS zone.
I think thats what they all did. Mercedes perhaps more so but that might be because they had to rather than as a tactical decision
Thanks for that Masanari, Looks like a very interesting race is set up here. Ham 6.4 mph faster than vettel
