It proves when Walcott was running at full speed, dopey Bassong was not clever enough to check his run and make sure he does not run into Walcott.
Young, Walcott, Drogba, Bale - a dive's a dive, they're all ****s for doing it. In Walcott's fairness he did apologise.
That's a stonewall penalty, even if walcott doesn't go to ground. Bassong's left leg shouldn't be where it is.
Dont know why you bother listening to Talk5hite, all they are interested in is their Liverpool love-in and the delusion of the likes of Quinn, Houghton and Collymore is laughable at times. I very rarely listen to them, its gutter radio and I`m sure they just make up stories for something to spout about.
Mate - there have been some real stupid people post on this forum, but you've won the 'biggest tool' award for 2012 already Deosn't matter what anyone says, you're just going to continue with your bullshit. You're obviously just a WUM.
how can it not be a red card if u give the pen? he was clearly the last man denying a goalscoring opportunity. that is a red card with a 1 match ban.
It wasn't intentional He couldn't get out of the way so common sense from the ref is needed. Walcott is quicker than Bassong and in no way did he change his direction, it was more Walcott cutting across Bassong and winning the penalty. Winning it fairly though unlike our Man U friend Young.
doesn't matter if its intentional, denying a goalscoring opportunity is denying a goalscoring opportunity. u may not "intentionally" break someones leg with a terrible tackle and actually only had eyes for the ball, but u broke the guys leg. walcott didn't cut across either. he was through and bassong cut accross his back and ran into him. clumsy? yes. unintentional? yes. denying a goalscoring opportunity? yes. red card? yes
I thought they changed the rules so that the ref "could" just give a yellow if they give a pen in situations like this? I think they used these sort of things a few times to not sent off a man utd player
This is what modern football has become! I personally think it's a yellow card but the laws are the laws. It was brought in to stop blatant fouling as the last man but they have now taken it too far.
Under the current rules the Walcott incident was a penalty and a sending off. To read some on here comparing that to the two Young incidents is extremely pathetic. It's not that hard to spot cheating. Young clearly cheated, twice, and there have been a few other incidents that were obvious cheating through the years. To be impartial, for example, Pires cheated against Portsmouth in the 2003 season. It was obvious. Going further, Rooney has cheated several times - including the most ridiculous I have ever seen against Aston Villa. They are all obvious and live in the memory, and fortunately captured on video to out these cheats. Stupid fans will point to every incident that results in a penalty or sending off to justify the cheating of their own players - trying desperately to compare situations, with zero grounds to do so. As for media bias - just look at the Mata goal for Chelsea. It was over the line, which all but the blind would accept from one still that simply has not been reported or shown in the media. All we got was some immediate reaction from players directly after the game, who couldn't possibly have seen the detailed replays, then days of talk about how it wasn't a goal and how Spurs were robbed after losing 5-1! When the truth doesn't fit, the media will make up what they want to believe - and what they want their stupid readers and viewers to believe. It's pretty sad that a vast majority believe the media even ahead of their own eyes and ears in every walk of life
