    Badly advised during his playing days, went off the rails, fell in with a crowd who simply wanted to be in his spotlight and now he's been dumped by them and left to his own devices.

    Sad story.

    Didn't Beardsley try and help him out, but couldnt?

    Was such a talented player who everyone loved - shame he's going down that road.

    Drink destroyed him. I remember seeing a programme about his ill-fated attempt at resurecting his career in China. The team's manager/coach was giving him beer at half time!

    Well if he does have to go to court for bankruptcy, I for one will turn out to support him, may take a bucket of chicken and a fishing rod with me. <ok>

    What a waste of talent.

    If only he could turn it around he could do a lot of good in football.

    But it the end it's up to him if he want's to turn it around.

    Did see something saying he was in rehab in Bournemouth, but dont know how it is going.

    Yeah he's been down here regularly since the summer.

    I bumped into him a few months ago at a Bournemouth match. He had a photo taken with my son. He looked ok but very thin, drawn, and twitchy. (Gazza, not my son)
