Goals from the back will require a big defender to play alongside Chester. Since Hobbs got injured we keep conceding from corners so I'm not convinced by the combined aerial prowess of a Chester/Cooper partnership, even though we did score our first corner in ages with those two. We also need a better delivery from corners like we've been getting from Dawson in the last few games. We need more of them throughout the season, ideally from Cairney because he's got a much more consistent left foot.

Dawson is the best left footed dead ball taker at the club. Corners and free kicks, I don't think he's scored this season (without checking).

He can be good but he can also be absolute gash. For the entire first half of this season we didn't have a ball in the box that looked anywhere near threatening. Not just him I know but he's not been on top form with them this season. I'd rather have Cairney taking them any day. I'd say he is the best.

Bilel Moshni is his name, he plays at CB or as a striker, he's done very well for Southend this season and I would expect to see a few clubs come in for him. Would love to see him here, especially with Hobbs out.

That Bilel Moshni chap has only scored 20 in 52 games from centre back!!! I can see a LOT of clubs after his signature.

He doesn't just play as a CB, he plays up front and also in the Koren role. He's a bit like Jon Parkin, he can play in both positions.

Assuming we stick with 4231 and Simpson and McLean both go I'd be quite happy with a bigger man, Fryatt, and Keane being our main 3 strikers and either Cullen or another of the youth set up in reserve.

When I saw him and King playing in the same game (nearly two years ago now) I actually felt Keane was nearer to being ready for Championship football than King, he was much more polished. At the time I said King would be best going to a top L1 club to start regularly in a good team rather than going to a bottom end Championship club to be unimpressive, and that he was nowhere near ready for a top CCC club because he needed game time that he wouldn't get with them (the positivity about him joining us was because he'd since had 18 months development so I anticipated him having improved, which he has).

Keane looked like he had a lower potential for the explosive scare the **** out of defenders thing, but what he had was much more polished. You could see Solskjaer's influence on him (as his reserve team manager at the time) and I thought he'd have been out on loan to a good side in the Championship last season, I can't believe he still hasn't had a full season somewhere yet. He wasn't someone I'd have had in the first team, but particularly last season when we had 7 subs I thought someone would have taken him to sit him on the bench to learn and be an impact sub. A very intelligent kind of player, and with Barmby as our manager I can only think of Wigan (with Martinez as manager) that would possibly have an edge on us in saying they could help his development, and that's only because of the style of football likely being a nicer attacking style than everyone else and them being closer to Old Trafford (and Keane's home) making it a coin toss.

NB: I just looked up the Man U lineup when I saw them at Dunfermline. Dudgeon, Chester, Stewart, Brady, King, Keane, Tunnicliffe and Ajose all played. It was Ajose, King, and Keane that I singled out to comment on to Man U fans at the time as looking to have the best potential. (I'm highlighting that to show how impressive they looked, before someone says how wrong I was about Chester and the others who've impressed in the Championship).
