As we all know, if Bristol City beat Barnsley on Saturday, our result will become academic, as we will be confirmed as down even if we beat Derby.

Do any of you actually think Barnsley will be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat at Ashton Gate?

The Tykes have picked up just 4 points from their last 6 games and have just 1 draw and 5 defeats to show for their last 6 on the road. Defeat would see them drop to 21st in the table, but as they are already safe, will they have the same drive as their opponents on the pitch?

My logic cannot see past a home win, which, as Loony Tunes fans will know, means "That's All Folks".

I think our boys will be really up for it and will nail Derby, but do you think we'll have any straws left to clutch onto by 4:45?

In the (sort of) words of the great Jeff Wayne: "The chances of Barnsley coming from Bristol with a win are a million to one they said!"

Bristol City had to put in a massive effort to keep West Ham at bay. I can see them slipping up in this one, either a draw or a loss. Derby have nothing to play for either and you are admirably fighting the seemingly inevitable. But a win for you and a loss for Bristol City and suddenly that light in the distance will look a lot brighter! Good luck <ok>

"No-one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No-one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets. And yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this earth with envious eyes; and slowly, and surely, they drew their plans against us."

Fortunately, their telescopes were pointed at Portsmouth, so they decided to pass. <laugh>

Unless nerves take hold I think City will have too much for Barnsley - confidence has returned to the team (and unbeaten in 6 games)
Just want to say that whatever happens I have a soft spot for your club, and wish Portsmouth all the best.

Hi Portsmouth fans, good luck for today - I can see you winning but unfortunately I can't see Barnsley helping you out; since they lost Drinkwater and Vaz Te they have barely won, although they do play good football.

As for The War of the Worlds - it is pretty damning that they thought Woking was the heart of our civilization.

Be fair Odds, it was the Woking of the late 1890's.

And I didn't know about this either!

They must have seen the brilliance of Her Majesty's Navy and realised that to attack would be completely futile!

It really is! Has lots of good songs. I think my favourites are Thunderchild and The Spirit of Man! Ever play the computer game War of the Worlds? It had some good remixes from the album produced by Jeff Wayne. For example:
