I was surprised, expected us to be second behind Real Madrid.

New York Red Bulls won last years! Arsenal can't even win at their own tournament. <laugh>

Now I wonder if there really is a Hemroid Cup.

It would be interesting to see how we can improve our position because I certainly rather see Liverpool competing with the likes of Real, Barca and Utd.

    - New stadium?
    - We've signed new sponsorship deals recently - have they been included in the figures?
    - Improving the brand in foreign markets?

Did you even read your own link?
As I said he paid zero and was given the shares as part of a contract with another FSG company.

Sweat's, I've said it above but just for your edification - given the FSG purchase price, no European income and a small stadium that rating is bloody brilliant.

We should have some new and vastly improved deals soon. After this year we wont even need cl footie to keep our spending up.

What makes you so confident that your new deals will be "vastly improved"? Now it can't be based upon your performance - European or otherwise. It certainly can't be based upon your global 'appeal' as indicated in the global supporters listings. So, where is the economic imperative to vastly improve the deals that you already have - OK I'll give you an inflation related %?

The Delotti rankings are revenue based. Forbes is valuation.

United are more valuable than Real Madrid and every other club on earth but Real bring in the most money before tax ( of course how dodgy this money is is anyones guess, this is Dodgy...sorry Real Madrid we are talking about here )

Yeh your right. We are a tiny club filling out 60k a week, in the cl every year, 4th biggest by valuation in the world, and 5th in terms of income

I dont think anyone doubts that in terms of income and valuation, Arsenal are way above Liverpool right now. I dont think it will change for at least the next decade unless Liverpool suddenly get a brand new stadium and vastly improve their league football meaning that Champions League income will become a factor in their club.

Who cares about valuation. You can see that on and off the pitch Liverpool are on an upward trajectory while Arsenal have been slowly going downwards since the invicibles season.

Off the pitch I dont see what you are getting at. They dont spend much granted but their revenue streams seem to be doing ok. They fill their stadium while charging stupid amounts.

Value is very important when it comes to investment I suspect and also when assessing any potential issues debt taken on by a club could hold.

Don't forget they have won a carling cup, there on the up, next year they may even qualify for the europa league through their league position, a club going places.

But our owners aren't even thinking of borrowing money against the club, so thats a pretty moot point.

The point I was making is our commerical revenue streams are going UP while Arsenal's have plateaued. They signed a very poor deal with Emirates in hindsight with the stadium. They are getting paid £5.5m a year by Emirates to sponsor them while Liverpool are getting paid £20m an year by Standard Chartered. Arsenal are also stuck with Nike until 2014, same as the Emirates shirt deal, which is worth £8m an year for them, compared to the £20m an year Liverpool will be getting from Warrior Sports.

That's an extra £54m Liverpool will earn over the next 2 years just in kit deals.

As I said, Arsenal are going backwards off the pitch compared to Liverpool who are getting better deals and matching the likes of Man Utd when it comes to sponsorship deals. They used to be a revolutionary club which noticed what they needed and got it done in the most efficient and cost effective way for teh club, now they seem to hesitate and be unable to get the best deals for the club unlike the people who own Liverpool currently.
