At what point of drunkeness do we decide its rape. Do we calculate units consumed to weight, height and bmi.
At no point has it been stated she had passed out

 

Not much difference between being passed out and legless and unable to defend yourself.

 

I thought the point of a court was to prove beyond all reasonable doubt. If this case is anything to go by half the adult female population can probably consider themselves "raped" at some point

 

I thought this at first, but at the end of the day we don't know all of the evidence that was shown to the jury.

At the end of the day, 5 years for rape makes this case sound like ****.

 

So they forced her up to the hotel room at gunpoint dod they? She knew what she was going up to a hotel room with a fella for.

However, if it was a guy that claimed he was taken advantage of when pissed out his skull, the Judge would probably laugh and tell him to grow a pair.

If it's a "poor defensless woman", the jury assumes she vulnerable and it's a big possibility she was raped when drunk.

Just think about that for a sec. Imagine if it was a guy claiming he thinks his drink was spiked and he ****ed a girl when he was pissed, and he woke up the next morning with his clothes on the floor and then claimed he was raped.

No one would take him seriously. If it's a woman, everyone ****s themselves and calls for the bloke to be crucified.

 

My guess is a boyfriend found she had cheated and instead of owning up to sleeping around she passed the buck to someone else and ruined his life in the process.

Forcing sex at knifepoint = rape
Slipping a rohypnol = rape
Accepting the advances of a drunk girl = shouldnt be considered as rape, shouldnt be condoned but shouldnt be classed as rape

 

Don't know all the facts, but the thing that struck made me and made me shocked at the verdict is, she said she was a heavy drinker and never forgot anything, so her drink must have been spiked. Now anyone who has ever drank will tell you, you have days where by you find it more difficult than others.

 

Btw windy mag I looked it up and a life sentence is still life ( but judges can set parole dates)

 

This all day long, should I take rape proceedings against a few of the munters i have bedded but normally wouldnt touch with a bargepole?

I trust there was conclusive physical evidence (injuries?) for the court to come to this conclusion. Now, I don't know anything about the case apart from what was in the papers. I'm sure there will be an appeal and all.

 

Ched Evens was crying at the end. Cries of a wrongly accused man? Or cries of a little **** that got found out? Who knows?

 

What sort of testimoney is that to hang a conviction on like, what the actual ****.
"I always get plastered and retain a photographic memory of it", away on ta ****.
Why would a crowd of footballers who would experience no difficulty picking up women go to such devastating lengths, it doesnt add up.

 

It's life in theory, but the way judges work it can be as little as that unfortunately.

I wonder how many women will be out tonight will let themselves get into the same position

 

I think in America there are life sentences with no chance of Parole.

IMO any justice system that hands out the death sentence is just trying to save money by killing off criminals.

The best punishment for the worse criminals is life in a cell, where they have to suffer. Death offers them a way out.

 

The fact is she may not have had handled the drink as well as she claims is what I was trying to get it. Think you may have got the wrong end of the stick of what I meant.

 

Most of the US States have abolished the death penalty now I believe. The best punishment is to lock them away for life and let them live knowing they will never see the light of day again.
