The game is being ruined by too much money corrupting too many young men ! I hope our lads would never do anything like this ,if its true! Surely the FA and FL cant sit idly by and do nothing , but what action can they take ? what would you guys like them to do?
Just posted this on another thread too. Do you tihnk it will effect Sheffield Utd's promotion push? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-17781842
AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH !!! Brilliant. What football was it who recently came out of prison? Ginger hair, well built striker, northern team....the name elludes me for now...maybe he could pass a few tips on. Rapists should rot in prision though, as light hearted as we are bieng about this matter, it is serious and shamefull.
Notice that the worst culprits we've had in a long time came during a period where we had money, and a board and manager prepared to put up with any behavior if the player's talent or potential was good enough. I'm not just talking about Marlon, but youngsters like Moses Ashikodi and Sheku Kamara.
Nothing - it is a criminal offence and we have criminal system which appears to have worked perfectly
Are you questioning the verdict by saying "if it's true"? As Leo has pointed out, justice has prevailed. He got what was coming to him and the FA/FL would be extremely foolish to even think of intervening.
Looking at the BBC article, it seems an odd case, as it seems Ched's act was watched by a number of his friends, and that the female in question couldn't remember a thing about the night due to alcohol. Such a shame that so many well-paid young men feel the need to go involved with so many ridiculous situations. Hopefully his time inside will teach him a lesson or two.
Personally, I don't know what happened and from the way the reports describe it.....it's not nearly enough to convince me. Does a verdict mean he's guilty? In the laws eyes maybe, but not good enough for me. It just seems like the girl has gotten drunk, consented and then woken up and thought she was raped.....but then the other guy who invited her around and also had sex with her was let off? Makes no sense..... But yeah....how can you say justice has prevailed? How do you know he got what was coming to him?
That is so wrong - so you are saying that if a girl get's drunk she is OK to be ****ed even though she is in no position to say yes or no? Well the now law states that it is no defence to do say and this dirty filthy creep got everything he deserves - actually he has not, only 5 years? which means he will get out in just over 2 years. He should get at least 10 years the nasty bastard...I hope some big fat monster ****s him in jail and he finds out what it feels like to be abused.
The woman is an adult.....she should be able to make her own decisions firstly. Secondly, some are saying that she wasn't even that drunk. Is every man supposed to carry a breathalyser with them (assuming that they are not drunk themselves) and make sure that the woman is not at the "too drunk to consent to sex" level? Also forgetting that men can be drunk too.....what makes a man more guilty than a woman? If a woman wants to have sex with you, then changes their mind the next day....that makes someone a creep? If he appeals and is found not guilty, are you going to turn around and say that the woman is a bitch? Final nail in the coffin though....if she was too drunk to consent....then why was the other person who brought her to the hotel not found guilty when he also had sex with her? But yeah...if he is guilty then fine....but way too many assumptions here...it's very easy to blame the man but countless times the decision has gone the other way i.e. the woman lying. Do you wish they get ****ed by some monster in jail?.....please....
From the BBC website: And: The creepiest part: Please feel free to explain why it's the victim's fault?
I have read this all already..... I have not seen the footage. Like I said though, her being drunk does not mean that Evans is guilty. "You must have realised that". A lot of assumptions there. So? I have woken up and not remembered what happened the night before. I could assume that my drinks were spiked..doesn't mean they were. I could wake up with a girl by my side...I could assume she raped me as I was in no condition to have sex. Does that mean that I'll prosecute? No.....leaving aside the sexist views everyone is quite clearly showing here....I would not be able to live with myself knowing that I have sent someone to prison when I don't even know what happened, and I most likely was partly at fault. Girls do not get drunk and go to a hotel without choosing to do it....OK I'm sure she could have been forced..but was she? Proof? What does a woman expect when she is invited to a hotel?.... The only creepy part is a "claim"....but then watching people have sex isn't generally illegally anyway (unless you're breaking some other law in doing so e.g. trespassing).....and people watching doesn't make Evans guilty. Feel free to prove/explain why Evans has been found guilty, why is it assumed that the girl has no fault in this....and why is the person who brought the girl round and also had sex with her not guilty? Why would the burden of proof fall on Evans? Surely in a country such as ours, it should be innocent until proven guilty.
The issue we have in this country is that the defendant has the burden of proof to show that beyond reasonable doubt he had gained the woman's consent. If he fails to do this then he will be presumed guilty. This means that women can claim that they were so drunk they did not know what was happening and then when they regret it in the morning they claim rape. Furthermore, women cannot rape men. I believe there is a different offence entirely, but i cannot remember exactly what it is off the top of my head. However, i also think there is a lesser punishment than that of rape.
A jury, after watching CCTV footage of her, said she wasn't in a state to be able to accept having intercourse with her. But she woke up with 2 naked men she'd never met before next to her. Let's compare it to your example, where you'd be happy to wake up next to a girl you couldn't remember sleeping with. In your case, you don't care, but in this case, the victim was so upset by waking up in this situation that she went to court about it, a decision that will affect her future an awful lot. If she was as proud as you'd be to wake up naked next to strangers, why would she have gone to court? The reason why, from my point of view, the first guy that brought her back was acquitted was that she thought she might have agreed to go back with him, but she was so upset at there being 2 of them that she went to the police. Does she expect one of the guy's friends to walk in, watch for a bit and then join in when he gets a chance? No. It's illegal if she was unaware of it I explained why I thought the first guy wasn't prosecuted, Evans decided to make his way to the hotel with no prior invitation and waited for his chance to act. He's guilty as there can be. He's been proven guilty
Women can rape men, but the man has to 'be in a physical state to be raped', if you see what I mean...
