If we bring in a DoF, we need to understand that the DoF picks the manager they want to work with, rather than the club chooses the manager for the DoF to work with.

It also depends on what Levy wants. On the one hand, if we brought in (for the sake of a name) Ancelotti or Moyes, we can reasonably assume that he can get on with the job identifying the players he wants to bring in, as well as running the rule on the players our scouts are keeping tabs on.

On the other hand, if we brought in a DoF (and, given we're heavily linked to Txiki Begiristain in the Spanish press, there's a possibility of him being brought in for this), we'd have to trust his judgment, although past records state that Begiristain is more reliable in this department than Comolli ever was...

Of course, should Begiristain arrive the question is who he would identify as the manager for him to work with. You can pretty much rule out Rodgers in an instant, and it's unlikely (but not impossible, it has to be said) that Bilic and Moyes would be on his shortlist.

  3. "The current Spurs manager has received backing from current England internationals Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and a mystery striker who referred to himself as Emilio Heskinho..."

    and:

“Harry has got all the attributes necessary to be a successful manager,” said Shearer.

“He’s got a pre-existing heart condition and involvement in suspect financial dealings before he even starts the job.”

“If anyone can take on an impossible role that will ultimately end up with their reputation laying in tatters, then Harry can.”

To continue in my juvenile mind set.

    Harry Readcrap
    Harry Rightcrap
    Harry Needcrap
    Harry Talkcrap

Yep all the attributes for a stunningly negative England career and a fine end to a long journey in football.

Could 'ave been a hero Harry!

    It's possible, Spurf.
    I've said similar things myself.
It's hard to know what Levy's thinking on this one.
It's hard not to know what Redknapp's thinking about anything on any given day, unfortunately.

The new system seems to underline how certain sets of fans really can't accept criticism, and rush to the dislike button faster than you can say "League Cups don't count double!"

I'd dislike the like system, if I could.
It encourages non-controversial posts, which is boring.

Weren't they doing **** before that?
Not sure it's damaged their form, though it'd be understandable if it had.

Harry's career will end in tears if he goes, there is no manager dead or alive who could win England a trophy with the player's we have, even the one's coming through.on the plus side Harry has said we will finish in the top 4

My point was that it sounds like we're going to be spending a fair bit this summer and I can't see Bilic being given the opportunity to take the lead in choosing players to sign when he's never hand to make transfers before. Totally different to the likes of Ancelotti and Moyes who are far more experienced in club football.

Bilic has some experience in club management...well, six months in charge of Hadjuk Split, for the grand total of 17 games.

He knows what being in the CL feels like, if his personal choice is to prefer International Comps, qualifiers and tedious friendlies, there really isn't much anyone can do. Personally, I thought his character would prefer the regular buzz of the CL, how wrong can you be.
