N.W. has seen what most of us already knew, O'Dea is fecking ****e and shouldn't be a professional footballer. From Yorkshire Post: http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...nager-warnock-s-blueprint-for-leeds-1-4466638 Best news for a while, now let's get some decent centre backs in.
Shouldn't be a professional? Is my sarcasm radar being fooled again and you're actually being serious? If by "for a while", you mean since we started negotiating contracts with Snodgrass, White and Clayton, then yes. Doesn't seem like that long ago, mind.
O'Dea is simply one of the worst players ever to wear the white shirt, he's up there with Brolin and Burns. I have watched him at Celtic and with Ireland and he is dreadful, hence very few clubs want him. I don't think he has the technical ability to be a professional footballer, and await to see what he does with himself now a mid table Championsip club have told him he isn't good enough. This is Warnock's best decision since he came, as we could have ended up with a **** player on wages, that isn't even average. He didn't sympathise with the guy and took a decision based on what he watched and his attitude at the club, I support Warnock 100% on this decision.
Probably means 'best news for a while' re outgoing players, and I agree. It's even better than the releasing of Parker and Vayrynen.
I actually couldn't agree more. I have often said that this guy has cheated his way into a job somehow. He is so bad, I do not compare him to any professional footballers, the mistakes he makes are ones you expect an 8 year old to make
Personally, I thought he was a lot better with NM as his manager, but hey-ho, what do I know. In NW I trust. Unfortunately, he was the first name down for the CB berth each week under 2 managers. What does that say about our other contenders?
I am relieved we are not keeping O'Dea as it means Warnock feels he can bring better players into the back four and I am not the biggest fan of O'Dea either but some of the comments on here are surprising me a little. I have only managed to get to a couple of games this year and I have watched the televised ones and I have to say he looks a better player in the second half of the campaign than he did in the first. Agreed not worthy of being in a promotion chasing team but seriously, if he is the worse since Brolin then we have short memories. I can throw one name straight in from this season, Rachbuka and if you want a second Forssell and a third Paynter - Yes two goals last week but that doesn't make up for how poor he actually is. If we had to keep one of those four O'Dea by a mile. Hopefully the other three will follow shortly....
When NW 1st came in it looked certain he was gunna retain Odea, especially after the Boro game. Think the suspensions tipped NW over the edge on him
I think we all wish those negotiations will go well, but with recent history in mind, hard to get too excited about them, to be honest.
