Guys, transfer fees mean nothing. If siggy doesn't want to go to malaga, toon, arsenal then the club can't force him. If we bid, its then down to the player so long as the club accept the bid. yer right.....hoffenheim own him while he is under contract and can sell him to whoever they like.....
Of course the can Dai. A person/player has rights. If Wrexham stumped up £20million for him (I know its not going to happen), there is no way in hell Hoffenheim can force him to go. At the end of the day, it's the player that signs the contract, not the club.
no team of that calibur would be able to afford £8.5 million for him in a million years, we can just about be able to afford that if we were to break our transfer record which i would for siggs, but the minute we offer our maximum teams like arsenal, toon and malaga would top it, hoffenheim will be out for the highest bidder just as we would if we were in the same position. its a pity as he likes playing for us but like he said ...its out of his hands now....
So your saying his club can FORCE him into a move he doesn't want to make? Don't think so Dai. Think that would breach human rights or whatever they are called.
We don't do bidding wars .... make him an offer (take it or leave it in a nice way ) , while seriously looking for a replacement . Whatever happens ... happens . I'm of the view that , almost to a man , that no player will be better on another team including our two big loans as there doing with us , time will tell .
ash if he dont go to a club that they have agreed a fee with then thats the end of his playing days.....they own him and can sell him on and there is nothing he can do about it if he wants to stay a footballer....he will go no matter who gets him.....its in his own interest to do so.....
Thats a very strange viewpoint, they don't own him at all, he is not some kind of slave, he can choose where he wants to go, a player can veto any proposed move, and can go to another club he chooses if the club he wants to go to matches the valuation of his release clause, and they can agree personal terms with him.
Dai, if a player is dead set against a move, he can reject ANY contract offer given to him. The club that he PLAYS for (Not owned) can then do no more unless another club puts an offer in. Do you really think a football club will will just throw a player out if he rejects another clubs contract? That's basically giving that player a free transfer. While the winner is usually the highest bidder, in some cases it is where the player himself wants to move. If we bid £6million and Malaga bid £7million but Siggy didn't want to go there, it's in the best intrests of the club to accept our offer.
A player can choose what club he goes to if his parentes club agree the fee. If we offer €6m and Newcastle offer €8 m then hoff may exept the bid but if the player chooses not to go to toon then his club have the option to accept the lower bid or keep the player at the club. Usually the club Are forced to take lower money rather than keep an unhappy player. The other option is to put him on Loan again
so if ash says he wants to leave at the end of the season and play for whoever then we will say "ok Ash good luck.....we own ash as long as he is under contract and he will go when we say he will go and to whom pays the highest fee. for example if cardiff offer £5 million for him and he wants to go there and hereford offer £6 million for him then we will sell him to Hereford if we want the highest bid. Ash can make his wishes known but at the end of the day he is owned by the swans and the swans will decide who's offer they will take......its been like that for ever and if the player refuses then he dont play for anyone and he dont get paid, look at trevez he had a strop on and wanted to leave man city.....what happened ? he could not play for anyone else and he never got paid and eventually he had no choice but to conform to man city's wishes and he is back. he cant go anywhere as long as he is under contract and man city can sell him to whoever pays the most or tevez will have to wait until his contract runs out where he will become a free agent and the cards are turned and he can choose where he wants to go......siggs is in the same boat where he can express where he would prefer to go but its his club who will make the final decision as they own his playing contract and thats the way it is.....like siggs himself says..."its out of my hands"...
Superswan we don't own players, they agree to play for the club under contract, that contract can be broken providing the terms of that are met. I work under a contract as well, the company I work for doesn't own me, I work under contract like football players. If I leave I do so under whatever terms there are for example 2 weeks notice. If a football player wants to leave the terms must be met, like a fee for say a £1m and maybe a sell on clause etc As I said you have an odd way of looking at things, the club does not own people they employ them like my company does.
in work you can go and work for someone else if you walk away....footballers under contract cant...they can leave anytime they want but they cant play for anyone else while the club has their contract so in effect the club does own the players rights on when he can play and for who......to me that is owning the players ability to make any choice of who he can play for....
kangaroo dont start son..ask anyone who knows about football and you will see i am 100% spot on. im surprised you dont know that you cant play for someone else when under contract..my grandchildren knows that rule..
I didn't say that they can play for anyone else what I said is the club does not own people, and they play under contract and they can walk if the contract allows. That is why there are two parts of contract negotiations, the first is an agreed fee for the release of the player from contract, and the second is agreement of personal terms. There are hundreds instances of fees agreed with clubs but failure of personal terms, we had one with Senna at the beginning of the season.
what would you call when you cant work for anyone else then unless the club says you can.. they own his work rights which ever way you try to make out im wrong....
They can work for someone else Superswan , they don't own work rights as the player can go into a different profession like media pundit for example. All a contract is for work, and as I said above if a player is to be released its normally agreed upon as in a fee to release them, or by mutual consent. You don't appear to know the basics of football contracts, do you want me to provide links so you can study what these are ?
Dai, I was pulling Ash's leg! any player can renegotiate his contract, and no club wants an unhappy player on their books, and as an example we can look at Leon Britton at Sheffield, who had made a bad decision in going there, while under Sousa, and wanted out, there were a few clubs interested in Leon, but all Leon wanted was to come back to the Liberty, so he had to buy out his contract, to return to the Liberty, and I'm sure compromises were made all round. What Ash is saying is that Siggy likes it here so much, that he wants to stay, the reasons are probably obvious playing so well in the Premiership, knowing the manager, getting on with the team, etc, etc, but is this situation as strong a tie as Leon, how much does he really want to stay, when the bigger clubs start flashing the cash? What are the issues with his contract in Germany? so we shall have to wait and see, but if the lad is truly happy here, then as Ash has stated (so many times) he can be the driving force for making his move permanent to us, but only time will tell, my view is, he'll go to a bigger club!............
1) Yes, that is correct, but only after you have completed the requisite notice which can vary depending on the contractual obligations. 2) As far as I am aware they can`t leave as they are still under contract. If they do leave, they can then be heavily fined (Tevez), as it then becomes breach of contract. So if they no longer wish to play for the club, then they have to endure reserve team football or go on (gardening) leave. If it gets to a state of irrevocable differences then the contract holder (the club) can at it`s own discretion, dissolve the contract by selling the third party or by mutual consent. That`s my take on it anyway. might be wrong.
tottenham could have got like £8m or something if dos santos agreed a transfer to udinese last summer, he refused to as he wanted to go to la liga, result is he is out of the team and languishing in the reserves.... the reality is he will go to the highest bidder who will also offer him double what swansea will. i think he's a flash in the pan personally....lets see how good he is next season...
