“It is our biggest achievement as a club by miles, but it is a very different feeling to winning promotion. This is more about relief than joy.”

“We have stayed up because we were outstanding in the first half of the season. We haven't been great lately but always knew the effects of having such a short break after winning the League One play-offs last summer would catch up with us.”

    • The Posh

Tommy Rowe will not play, he has a broken nose. Also centre back Gabriel Abdala Zakuani will be missing he has a broken toe and dislocated shoulder.

Update on the Posh’s latest statistics

    Last time out against Southampton
    Paul Jones
Gabriel Zakuani, Craig Alcock, Shaun Brisley

Mark Little for Lee Frecklington – 76 mín., Tommy Rowe – goal 86 mín., Grant McCann for Joe Newell – 72 mín.

“That performance was a big positive for us. The shape was slightly different, the wingers tucked in and it went really well first half. It is a great place to come and play - the pitch is magnificent and if you can't play here you can't play anywhere. We got on the ball and moved it around, we looked comfortable and I really enjoyed it.”

“They had to come flying out of the blocks so we expected some pressure. There were mistakes from a few of us with their first goal, it then fell straight for their guy. It was a game of two halves, we dominated the first and then they were on top for the second.”

“At home we have to play a lot different, so you have to play the circumstances. Today was all about getting the ball down and playing which we did.”

    • The Hornets

Time is short for Stephen McGinn to appear this season, Ross Jenkins is also in danger of only appearing next season. Adrian Mariappa is back ready to play after his suspension for falling to Liam Rosenior’s acting.

Update on the Hornet's latest statistics

    Last time out at Brighton

    Tomasz Kuszczak
Nyron Nosworthy, Martin Taylor, Lloyd Doyley, Carl Dickinson
Sean Murray - goal 6 mín., John Eustace (c), Britt Assombalonga for Prince Buaben - 90 mín., Jonathan Hogg
Joe Garner for Chris Iwelumo - 84 mín., Troy Deeney - penalty 44 mín.

Sean Murray and Troy Deeney, again!

    Who will win?

    Current form

Watford arrive with one defeat in the last ten matches but only four wins and more importantly six games away from home without defeat. 13 goals scored and 9 lost. Peterborough have six defeats and three wins in the last ten, not a good record. 12 gaols marked and 19 lost. Between the two teams a recipe for goals.

Akureyri's Prediction: 2-1 Watford will struggle against a Peterborough team who will be eager to recover from a visit by Southampton and also to finish well for their followers at home. Watford will have the pleasure oftheir last home game next week.

    Cheers AK, cinco estrellas !

End of season game. I'd like some starts for those who have been on the fringes, namely Whichelow and Assombalonga. However, I think SD will just have them on the bench. Also, it'd be good to get as many points as possible.

Don't you just want to smack little Furguson looking at his above pic. Still we don't want to upset his father given some of the loanees that we have had off him.

Amazing thread AK. I am really hyper for this one, partly cos im going, partly cos its a derby for me (knowing 4/5 P'boro fans) and also cos i get to meet a lot of you guys. Im gutted its our penultimate game!! I dont know what i will do with myself for the months off :( I guess i will have to get a job.

I think this will be a very good game, they seem to play the Watford way in that they just want to score one more. If they score 1 we will score 2 and whatever. We have shipped a few recently before waking up and we could find that will be the same on Saturday. However, if we do what we did at Brighton and get some early shots in to test the keeper then we could get a lead before HT. Their defence is shakey at best and their squad on the whole is very depleted and tired, so we could mow them down if we can play the way we did on Tuesday.

    I really cannot wait!!!! <badger>:emoticon-0140-rofl:

I really would like another four points for a satisfactory season, yet somehow I feel that the Posh are becoming a bit of a bogey team.:(

These threads of yours really are the best ak. <applause> Will read them long before I look at the one produced by the Beeb.

Looking forward to this match but we know as it's their last home game they're going to want to go out on a high, which could actually help us for the reason Dan gives. On the 3.15 flight to Gatwick tomorrow afternoon then up to Posh by train. All of you who are going, see you there.

But we beat them earlier in the year M Frenchie, they can't be a bogey team :)

A great thread Ak, thanks so much, we'll definitely miss them when they're gone :(

As for the match, it will depend on which Posh and which Watford turn up on the day, but, just to make a change, i'm going for 1-3...;)...i think we have a good chance of keeping them at bay...

The referee for this one will be Mr Phil Gibbs from the West Midlands. He has only taken charge of 11 championship matches this season, he tends to officiate lg1/2 matches. He has issued 33 yellow cards in those 11 matches, so an average of 3 per match. No players have been sent off, and 2 penalties have been awarded. He has officiated 1 previous watford match and that was the game at Ashton Gate when we beat Brizzol City 0-2 in 10/11

A great tread AK, I'm going to miss them next season :emoticon-0106-cryin.

I can see this being an end to end game with possibly a lot of goals. I am really gutted as I had been planning to go to this game since last year, but had to cancel a couple of weeks ago. :emoticon-0120-doh:

Anyway I'm going for 2-3 win to the 'orns' !!!!!

Neither team playing for anything, except pride. Peterborough are strong at home, generally, and a bit of a bogey team for the Hornets. Watford on a run of success away from Vicarage Road, a run of draws in all games. Obviously a draw, 1-1.

Guys, i have been thinking. I will have my Ipod with me and charged tomorrow and will take as many pics as i can. I was then thinking of making a slideshow video of the day including pics of before, during and after. If you are taking cameras and wish to include any pics feel free to pm them to me and i will add as many as i can. If you dont wish to have your picture included in it then let me know and i will try to avoid full face pics of you.
