i remember we were linked with Joe Cole, and i wanted us to sign him, at the time he was a free transfer after leaving Chelsea and he wouldn't have a problem settling in with Ferdinand and Carrick his former West Ham team-mates were here and i think he would've won more league titles with us if he had join us and don't forget the manager was interested in signing him ever since he was at West Ham.

Yeah i wanted us to get cole as well i know it didnt exactly work for him at liverpool but theres no doubt hes got immense talent and when hes at his best hes a quality player; tbh if he was a free at the end of this season id still take a risk on him he looks revitalised as a result of this loan spell and would be a very useful squad player.

You two cannot be serious? The guy is now 30 and while he has talent, he is no more talented than Nani though not in the eyes of Liverpool players of course. Seriously signing Cole and Raul <doh> That would be taking our club backwards. Like I said earlier we need to be signing younger players or promote our reserves not older ones who will only hinder the progress of our youth.

Essien at the time he went to Chelsea would have been perfect for us.

It seemed a done deal but Chelsea dangled a very lucrative carrot in front of him and all of a sudden it was his 'dream' to play for them. No ****, 100k a week can do that to a person.

Joe Cole would be the last player I'd want, mainly because at 30, and how his form has been over the last few years, I'd rate players like Young, Valencia and Nani as his superior.

Chelsea ruined Joe Cole, the guy was a tremendous player when he was a youngster, playing through the middle for West Ham, but Chelsea shipped him out wide, and he never had the pace to be effective out there.

Had he been played through the middle during his prime, he would have been a much better player

I really wanted Brian Laudrup when he was at Rangers. Brilliant player. But I suppose Beckham would never have had his chance then.

Defo Shearer and Essien. I would have liked to have seen Ronaldinho play at OT in his prime. If not mistaken Peter Kenyon managed to screw up the almost done deal. Ronaldinho said Kenyon was arrogant and signed for Barca instead.
I think Kenyon ****ed up a couple of deals for Utd and Chelsea.
