No mention of a new stadium in the article which worries me. That represents the single most important investment that will be made in the club if the Fernandez vision is to be realized. Even if we get relegated that project should be progressed immediately as it will need at least 3-4 years to bring to fruition. If we do get relegated and hear no more about a new ground it will be a clear indication that the plan has been derailed to some extent despite Beard's words.
I'm with Oslo and 9's, there is too much negativity. Yes survival is going to be tough but we shouldn't forget the fact the club is in the best state it has been in for 20+ years. A bad vibe amongst the fans isn't doing us any favours particularly when it is unjustified. The direction of this post should have been a positive one as we are being told that we will keep our players when in fact a club with our relatively small turnover should by all rights be talking about selling players. Clonmany I bet you aren't able to find a direct quote of Fernandes saying it would be disastorous if we went down. And Brix I think it is a bit dramatic to say we 'choked' at West Brom. We narrowly lost an away game against a good prem side, who had rested four players mid-week for the game. I think that freshness told. It was our 3rd game in 7 days. Even if you disagree with this I don't see why it is necessary to bring this up on a thread about keeping our best players even if we go down.
Don't worry too much about the stadium. I know for certain that they have people out there enquiring about sites and this has been happeing in the last couple of weeks. Honest Guv
We have the full range of human nature on here, no point getting wound up by others who don't share your outlook. But it is important to remember we are all R's to the core, and we're in this together. For the record I'm on the positive end of the spectrum....of course we could get relegated, we could be crippled financially, the owners could turn out to be worse than Tango and Cash, all the grand plans could come to nothing, the Scum could win the CL. But none of these things have happened and there's nothing we could do about them if they did, personally I avoid stressing myself about things I can't change. But there is a chance we could change things for the better by getting right behind the team for the remaining games.
Brix, i was not having a pop at you or anybody in particular. Like most football fans i also spend my minutes and hours wondering about QPR and the if's and buts of this season and the last few.. I just don't understand how some people think. We have spent 15 long years hoping, praying and waiting for a return to normality and a crack at the Prem. We are not down yet. We are not even in the bottom three at the moment. I too am frustrated, annoyed and disappointed by so much of this year. But i have not spent so long waiting for this moment to let it go so easily. I want to enjoy every minute of it safe in the knowledge that we have the players, manager and owners to come straight back up IF we go down. I posted in a different thread that i honestly thought we came up ill prepared. As a club we really were not ready for promotion and it caught up with us. I have no doubt in my mind that we will come up next year in a far stronger position and prepared for whats ahead.Of course everybody is entitled to their opinion, its what makes this forum what it is.
