The last time that happened we beat Arsenal 4-1 away. This side has great character. I actually think it would be better for you if we came into the game on a high rather than a low.

We have a massive league game against Newcastle and then the cup final so we will probably put out a 2nd/3rd string as I can't see too many players being risked.

Couldnt agree more . Chelsea , Man U etc are not English teams anyway all are filled with foreign mercenaries . I support the teams that play attractive attacking football and for that you cant look past Barcelona . Its total crap that they cheat any more than any one else . Just garbage started by Jose Moronico . His teams play hateful boring dirty shyte - look no further than his cfc days and the current Real Madrid thugs.

4 of the 11 players that played for us last night were English. In fact if you actually look at the national team at full strength which would probably be.

    ---------Hart-----------

    Richards--Cahill---Terry---Cole

    Sturridge---Parker---Gerrard---Young

    Welbeck------------- Rooney

Minus the Right back position and GK, you could field a team of Chelsea and United English players quite easily.

Every fan has a different opinion which is what makes the great game.

I personally don't find passing the ball around 100 times in your own half and boring spectators to death entertaining at all. Barca are without doubt the best team I've seen at the Bridge, but by far the most boring. In the 2nd half I never felt they were a threat and for all their posession they create very clear cut opportunities by comparison.

Give me Bayern Munich or Real over Barca anyday.

And the same with QPR, I'd sooner go to Loftus Road and watch a game of football than watch Swansea (no offence). Both me and my mate think in terms of entertainment value QPR are a better team to watch than Swansea.

I never bought into the myth Mourinho's sides were boring, from what I've seen of Real they have been far more entertaining than Barca.

Last night showed the difference between Swansea and Barca possession, Swansea have it in their 1/3 with thier back 4 and goalie. Barca are permanently encamped in the opposition 1/3rd on the edge of their box.

One is exciting, one is like watching paint dry.

DL..this game and board is all about opininions..and i have to say that yours are 180 degrees out of line with all of mine!!

A post that says Barca are boring? really, winning just about everythin you can possibly win is boring, winning a better league than the prem (dont start flyer!) is boring?..i could carry on but you get the point...

Winning the Prem means nothing in european football, and winning the chumsp league once puts you on par with Steau Bucharest!!

Mate, i honestly respect you as a good poster, but, on this i can find no middle ground...Guess..like i said..its all about opinions.?

You can't take your eyes of it, and it is intriguing but the lack of penetration is what frustrates most.

Barcelona under Riijkard were hugely entertaining and effective IMO, I don't find this Barca team as entertaining but it's just my opinion, others will disagree as they are entitled to.

Of the 4 teams left I find Bayern by far the most entertaining and hope they win it as it will be nigh on impossible for us to despite last night.

    Talk about an unfair comparison!

I'm sure the Swans are delighted to be talked about in the same breath as the Catalan giants.

Not really, it's just an opinion I've always held.

We've beaten Barca many a time and played a lot better than that anyway.

I would far rather watch AC Milan of the late 80s/early 90s, Brazil of the 70s or even a modern Brazilian team than watch Spain/Barcelona.

I think you can do the sort of things Barca do defensively and still be entertaining ala Chile in the 2010 World Cup.

Sorry mate but to compare Barca with Swansea is like comparing an Aston Martin to a Morris Minor . Barca boring ? They had 24 shots on target to CFC 1 ! You've got a different definition of boring to me . They also hit the post the bar and missed two absolute sitters i think these are clear cut chances . On most other days would have come away with a 4-1 win .As for Real and Moronico watch him park the bus on the weekend at the nou camp because he knows if he trys to play football they will get thumped 5-0 , as they did the only time they tried this option . I expect we'll see the usual thuggery from Pepe ,Ramos ,Alonso and co. How long until one of them maims Messi and deprives us from watching this genius ?
As for an England with Terry ,Cole ,Gerrard and YOUNG . I'd rather support Scotland .

Well some one here were making out they were the welsh version of them.

Possession does not mean a team is good or is exciting.

I know that's what I mean, it's a difference of opinion and subjective. I would pay to watch Messi but wouldn't pay to watch Barca.

I still maintain that you can't support a Premier League club and the national team (especially if you support a team like Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal or United).

Club football has become too partisan IMO and if it were me I'd scrap international football completely.

Again its ooinions...personally, football italtia was the most boring show i ever saw (twice). What a waste of tv license..you say spaniush football is boring but rate Seria A...really.?
you are obviously aware thatt italy were renownwed for bori ng tactical football? (sorry dont know your age)

Flyer will hate me fior sayinbg this biut ; spanish football and laliga is so technically advanced and in front of le lemp premiership; that itmakes us look like kids.

If our league was the best then we'd have more than 3-4 chumps wins in the last 10 or so years....

Brazil of any era..? yes..ac milan of the 80's..paint drying comes to mind.
If that is a generic chelsea supporters view of football; then i understand why you are impressed with suporting the most boring top 4 team.
As for entertainment, as an honest poster, you cannot surely consider chelsea as an entertaining football team.
If you do, then thats your opinion...personally I'd rather cut my nuts off with a blunt spoon..

Anyway, opinions count for sh*e really..dont they?

I dont care how technically advance a league is, Id rather watch a non league game than cheats like Young, Carroll, Lampard, Drogba, Ronaldo etc who are a complete and utter embarrassment to themselves and football.

Well ,barca was once and a while quite boring to watch yesterday. If you take messi off they are not better that city or manu. The way they took their goalscoring chances reminded me of one certain SWP.......

Depends on what you'd rather watch. I find these days people have very little appreciation of the actual game.

I don't agree with people that say Messi is the best player in the world. He is the best player in his position in the world but if you put Messi at Centre Half nobody is telling me he'd be the best player in the world.

I have as much appreciation for attacking as I do defending. As I've got older and understood the game more of gradually grown less fond of La Liga simply because there is no emphasis on defending at all which benefits teams like Barca and Real.

I'd much rather watch a 1-1 draw than a 5-0 win. Sorry but seeing Barca trounce Getafe 4-0 or whatever isn't my idea of entertainment. One reason why people like El Clasico is because it is the only competitive fixture in Spain and one that traditionally cannot be called ridiculously in favour of one team.

As technically able as the Spanish teams are, nothing would infuriate me more than a team that can't defend set pieces, something I've always admired about the English game.

In the English game every game is competitive and there are so many different styles. You have your flair teams like Spurs, counter attacking teams like Arsenal, passing teams like City, Long ball teams like Bolton. Every team plays differently and for me that is interesting, I don't find watching 20 similar teams good for football. People moan about Stoke but they have brought something different to the table
