......for a weeks holiday. I have assumed all along that we would go up automatically and I could therefore book this break with confidence. My confidence has not been dampened and I am looking forward to the celebrations after Saturdays game. The champagne is sitting quietly in the fridge and when the very lovely Mrs Godders and I get back from watching the game at the pub the champagne corks will be popping. Who knows by the end of the evening I might have done a Nigel (we all know what he gets up to on his afternoons off) and the very lovely will have a big smile on her face. Then some more bottles will be put in the fridge hoping that Reading slip up and we are top on the last day.
Hope you have a, errrr, exciting week in France! Make sure the lovely Mrs Godders enjoys herself, just hope, for you sake, you don't bump in to Morgan on one of your excitable walks! Don't want the lovely Mrs Godders getting too excited now do we?
rj_02 wrote "How does this thread engage forum users in debate and discussion?" How about : That was a bit premature mate! You are chancing your arm we may still not go up and if we don't that will wreck your holiday. What makes you certain we will go up? Why would anyone want to go to France when there is football to watch? Nice to see you will be celebrating I intend to celebrate by.....(you tell us). I'm pissed off, broke and a miserable little sod and want to know how you can afford to go to France when I have to sit here all by my party spoiling self with no mates at all. That is just for starters but I don't see why I should do your thinking for you.
The "intended" matter of this thread lies within others threads. Will we go up, will we not go up. You telling us about your holiday is immaterial.
rj, let the Forum wordsworth that is Godders, continue to entertain and warm the cockles of those of us who have come to love his endearing style so much. We like him, we like his ramblings. You my friend, are but a young virgin of 72 posts. I'm sure you'll come to enjoy his musings, however if not then please, simply jog on dear lad!
Godders. my Champers is in the fridge too. I am driving to Boro on Saturday with my young son (11); the lovely Mrs FLT will be asleep by our return between 11:30 and midnight, however I may still be tempted to awake her with the exploding pop of fizz from my bottle, should the occassion call for it!
I read your other post and have to say you son will be a Saints fan for ever. I think every Saints fan will be partying on Saturday if we get a result that puts us up.
I may join the Kumb website group on their lovely boat ride party. Hopefully I will be the only one Celebrating
Godders likes to add a little of his life to a post occasionally. You either get these things or you don't. Next time, when you see Godders start a thread, or add to it, don't go to it. But then again you might be missing a little bit of entertainment, because StG goes to a little trouble to entertain you. I welcome the variety. Guess what, I'm not working today and I'm sat here occasionally practising my guitar and reading/writing a few posts in between. Nothing to do with whether Saints go up or not, but hopefully it adds to the overall message.
Well done! Forgive the sarcasm, but my main point was that you could either choose to enjoy Godders posts or to ignore them!
Ah fair enough - I think a wet Tuesday morning clashed with Godder's positivity and celebratory talk too harshly It's Friday tomorrow and Saints are nearly there! Coyr
