To start with I just want to thank all of you who have taken the time to send us such supportive messages. All such messages mean a lot but they're extra special when they come from a main rival. I am sure you'll all be feeling as euphoric as us on Saturday night after you win at Boro, and I'm confident you will. And be sure I'll be back on here on Saturday to return the congratulations. Obviously to win the title would be the icing on the cake for us but we all know Adkins will have your team fired up to try and win it for yourselves. Promotion is the big one though and as much as I would like us to take the title, you would be worthy of it after your incredible season. You picked up in the championship as you left off in league 1, a tremendous achievement. Good luck for the weekend and see you next season in the premiership.
Thank you very much SuffolkRoyal, however we cannot get carried away until we are there. Before the Blackpool and Reading games some people on here we talking about smashing opposition and in both cases we conceded three. So no complacency and we will seal promotion. After that we can worry about the finer detail as to who wins the league as Champions . Out of interest do you think your team this season is stronger or weaker than the side you had when you were last promoted?
Cheers for that. Hopefully, next season we'll both be assets to the PL, and not just there to make up the numbers.
Were you the fan that gave me the middle finger at the game last Friday? If so I feel you owe me an apology.
OakWizards, its much easier to be confident for another team when you're neutral but sometimes that makes it easier to see the positives. I'm certain you will beat Boro. As for this team as opposed to Coppells team, I'd have to say the record winning side were stronger, just my opinion which some might disagree with. Jake, unfortunately, as my handle suggests, I live a long way from Reading and although I've supported Reading since the mid sixties, all my active support was from then until the mid eighties, so no, I wasn't the perpetrator of the middle finger salute, nor would I ever be, I'm far too old to run off these days and you most definitely would have caught me lol. Cheers fella's
Haha, fair play mate. What a surge from your lads! Unbelievable run of results. Whoever finishes top deserves it, and Reading have been a machine in 2012. Hopefully we'll be watching Reading vs Southampton on MOTD in September.
Appreciate the kind words SuffolkRoyal. Hopefully Blackpool can win the play-offs so that the three teams that get promoted are exciting teams who know how to play football the right way. I think we both equally deserve to win the league this year and, as you say, the most important thing is promotion. I´m just glad that if we lose out on the title it will be to you and not West Ham. Can´t wait for next year!
Can't wait for next year!?! Blimey, my mrs asked me if its all over soon, I went on to tell her that it is kinda over, theres two league games, a couple glory teams cup finals to go, then the play offs (oooh very exciting), then the obligatory depressing Q/F defeat at the euro's thats always worth a peak, & after that a couple weeks break, then it all starts up again! 2012, the year of football, a fantastic year to be good at it! Amen.
TBH, going on the quality that the last few coaches managed to extract out of the golden generation of players perhaps they'll make the final if left to their own devices.
Boro won't be an easy game, they've got their own battle going on but I'm sure the fans will do all they can help lift the team and hopefully we can do enough so that West Ham's result won't matter either way. COYR!!!
Thanks SuffolkRoyal and congratulations on your promotion and look forward to avenging our defeat at St Marys next season!
Thanks SuffolkRoyal for your kind words.....at least for us to be promoted it is in our own hands.....as for taking the title.....you will have to slip up in a big way to do that, but you can bet your bottom dollar we will have a go. Enjoy yourselves in the Premier...hopefully we will meet you there.......
We will. we will be 3 points behind, and Reading will lose to Brum. We will win it on goal difference.
I have a sneaky feeling Banksy that they won't slip up at Brum, but could well do at home to Palace... after the Lord Mayor's show and all that.
