I may have some news on this front.

My Grandmother owns a carpet shop. She buys large bulks of carpet from a firm from South Wales. The director of this firm is an executive box owner/rentee at the Liberty and is also closeish friends with Mr Huw Jenkins. This chap (Not naming names) was up here today on a meet and greet sort of thing, and my Grandmother did say I was a Swans fan nd was wondering about Bucks future etc.

Now, apparently, this chap was speaking with Huw and has asked about Buck. The response Huw gave him was "Hahahahahaha, Brendan's going nowhere unless there are discussions with another club".

So, from this, I read that here has been NO CONTACT from Spurs regarding Buck and this is NOT a done deal.

Valley, you misunderstand my point. I'm not asking for a statement from the club - if you have seen Huw's comments about this you will realise that he appears to be as much in the dark as the rest of us. I would like some clarification from Buck. We were messed about by RM's silence when it was rumoured he was off to Wigan and we don't want any more of that.

It's all academic anyway. In the light of all the rumours, if Buck refuses to confirm that he's staying, it can only be because he's going to leave if he gets an offer.

What kind of statement do you guys expect the club to make ??

"we must clarify the situationabout our manager RE articles in the The Sun, Planet Swans and Not 606" <laugh>

Get real folks, there isn't anything to discuss or clarify yet, anyway , Rodgers may be holding out and keeping this speculation going for a completly different reason, like making sure we secure the funds for Gylfi for example, its as valid a conspiracy as some of the rubbish mentioned above!

If he goes so be it, next man comes in and carries on.

As regards Pascoe going aswell, then good!! he is as much use as a chocolate fire guard at the top level IMO. Looks like your typical "Yes" man to me ala the coach in the Mike basset football manager film <laugh>

Dont fret about rodgers going, he has done us proud and given us something we never really thought we would see so soon. If he was the greatest at his job in the world ask yourself why he couldn't get a managers position for nearly 2 yrs <ok>

If this is true then huw should have no problem coming out and saying so should he..<laugh> he has done it many times before so why not now. the longer they dont put a stop to the media talk the more fans are inclined to believe there is something in these stories.....there is no smoke without fire..<ok>

But that is a huge assumption, he doesn't say anything so he must be leaving, what happens if he is not asked that question ? Also for example a player says he loves it here, he wants to finish his career here, then gets offered £50k a week and the club £5m and goes. So he becomes a bok because he said 6 months ago he was staying!

Brendan cannot say anything because there is nothing to say, if an offer comes in so be it, but it doesn't mean he'll take it.

There's nothing to clarify . To ask a manager to speculate on what he'd do if there was actually something is .... well , not fair to say the least . 5 million, if he goes , keeps me happyish even before something could happen!!

My #1 fear through all this speculation isn't if Rodgers goes ...... it's if he has time to bring in a few players , then goes sometime later in the summer !! Then I'd be really choked !!

if something is written about any of us and we know its not true then would you not want to clarify yourself if the stories are true or not.......silence at the moment speaks volumes.....it says there is something in what all the media are saying...

Not true at all mate, if someone was putting it around that you had a 12" inch cock (maybe you have i dont know!) would you go out of your way to tell everyone it was actually smaller ??

Or would you quietly bask in the glory of being porn star material and keep a dignified "silence" on the story ??

We should just all remember Martinez for ine minute. Preached to us all about loyalty and told us lie after lie then left taking the family silver with him.
Rodgers has not once tried to pull on the heart strings like el-judas and has been totally respectful to the club, fans and city of swansea. He has never said he would never leave,he has never promised us anything other than his best efforts.

If he goes he goes <ok>

If he goes at the end of the season then either way you look at it all the stories in the media were true and Rodgers will lose quite a lot of respect from many of us, He has an opportunity to make some sort of statement even if there is nothing to tell. he must have seen all the media coverage every day ....so there is no excuse not to say something to either say its all rubbish or nothing has been finalised yet or even i dont know.....to say nothing will only fuel speculation and make him look an idiot if its true......

He`s not long signed a 3yr contract with us and he`s had success here after failure elsewhere he`s got a budget for players and wealth here i dont think he`s had before. And he says he`s settled and loves it here after the sad events in his private life recently he sees more to life than the rat race that is the ugly game .And he`s respected and adored by fans and the city alike .

As far as i`m concerned he`s staying until i hear otherwise.

If he were to go it would be for fame and fortune elsewhere but it would be a big gamble for him and a top team to take at this stage in his young career.

As far as a statement of intent , as long as he does`nt say "they will have to drag me kicking and screeming out of here" i dont care whats said until an official club statement is announced.

Look, if Buck stays he stays, if he goes he goes. All I want is to ensure that we are not left in the lurch as we were with Martinez. We need as much notice as possible, if he is going, to interview managers. The new guy then has to buy in players, get to know the squad, work with them pre season and arrange friendlies etc. I just do not want to see a repeat of the chaos we faced when RM left. We need this uncertainty like a hole in the head after our first season.

As for new players, a new manager won't really know what he's after because he won't know the strengths and weaknesses of the players he inherits. IF there's any mileage in these rumours, this whole affair could turn into a pig's guts if the timing isn't right. Hence it is essential that the club know Buck's intentions sooner rather than later.

It's no good burying our heads in the sand hoping that Buck won't go, otherwise we could be in trouble... again. For me, it's always best to envisage the worst case scenario then prepare for it.

Hell guys, I can't believe what I've been reading here! This thread is like a bloody agony aunt column, man you couldn't make it up if you tried, so let me get this straight, 'Brenda the tea lady' is eloping off with our reserve coach Pascoe! Have they been having a fling? and house hunting and all, well I never, the things some people get up to, it's bloody shocking I tell you, whatever next! Does Huw know about all this................. <laugh>

I think Norway summed it up quite well with his 12 inch Penis.

At the end of the day, there's always speculation. If every manager, Chairman, player had to speak out about speculation the papers/internet wouldn't have any room for other headlines. I'm sure Buck is immensley flattered right now to even be "linked" to such a job like Spurs, but, our chairman, nor their chairman has come out and said "we will make contact", so until then, Buck is ours and I bleieve he will be for 3 more years at least.

totally agree with you ivor..<ok> If brendan goes after the season is over then he is showing the club and fans little respect, you cant ignore the comments being publicised and he has a duty to make some sort of comment on whether these publications are true/false or has some substance. we dont want to be in a position of no manager at the end of the season.......
