My younger brother is good mates with pascoe's son and he seems to think that they'll be gone in the summer. They've even started looking at houses. More or less from the horses mouth. Hope we can get a replacement in pretty early on.
Can't see either going, it's just not happening in my opinion. Spurs would be mad to consider it, levy would have taken leave of his senses.
This is doing my head in because I think I've got an over active imagination! Why do I say this? Well, it's linked to Buck's statement about his tactics/plans for the remaining games. He's talking about trying out squad players and new formations with a view to finding an alternative system as a Plan B before next season. Now this seems a bit cavalier to me, given that each place is worth about £850k and we will need as much money as possible to help fund transfer dealings. On the other hand, it would seem that, as he is planning for next season, he is intending to stay on. However, the cynic in me is saying that this might be a form of insurance for when he goes to Spurs. How so? Well, if we flop over the line in our present formation there is bound to be an outcry, particularly from the Tottenham supporters, who will claim that he is too inexperienced to handle their team witnessed by our lowly position. But, if he does experiment (and we would probably flop) he could always say that he was doing just that and, had he stuck to the usual team, tactics and formation, we probably would have finished higher. There would be no way to prove it one way or the other. Conspiracy theories abound!! Personally, I think he's gone. He can't possibly be unaware of all this speculation (even Huw doesn't seem to know which way he is going to jump) and all it would take is a simple statement saying that he is staying. The fact that he is saying nothing indicates to me that this is a done deal. I'm a bit peeved to be honest. He is putting us through the same scenario that RM did and I believe that he owes us better than that. Effectively, he was on the scrapheap when we gave him his chance and, if he does leave, he will be doing so at THE most critical point of our history. Of course, I fully accept that I, and others of similar opinion, could be totally, utterly and completely, wrong. If that is the case I have one thing to say to Buck - this is too important an issue to mess us around. If you are staying, or leaving, just come out and say so. I feel that we are being used here. If Harry gets the England job, he dumps us. If Harry doesn't get the job, Buck decides to stay. Not good enough.
Sorry but how can it be a done deal when spurs don't even know if Harry is going to be even asked to do the England job ? The FA have not made a decision so how can spurs or the swans ?
absolutely agree about it only takes a simple statement from brendan, he can say either yes or no or even not sure yet. this silence from brendan and huw is fueling all sorts of speculations, the players i hope are not in the dark like the rest of us because that could explain the slump of form recently....a statement must be made by the club sooner than later so everyone knows whats happening....
Ivor, you need to find a hobby to take your mind off it all. Far too much thinking going on in your head. My best guess is that Brendan is keeping all options open, nothing more, nothing less.
At the end of the day i've read there is interest from Man City,Chelsea and Spurs (all speculation of course ) but i really cant see top four teams going for a inexperienced manager who's had a great season with a team that's come up from the championship,Mind you saying that Chelsea have tried going down the route of tried and tested managers which haven't quite worked.
I don't understand what kind of statement is needed from the club, how can any response be given to wild speculation ? If it happens it happens, but asking for comments to pander to some fans is not going to be done, there is a long line of IFs before anything can be done, the biggest if is Harry leaving spurs
What I'm saying, Valley, is that IF Harry gets the England job then I think it's a done deal. It's simple enough for Buck to say he's staying if that's what he intends. As for pandering to the fans, without us there would be no football club. Quite frankly, the fans of all clubs should be pandered to a lot more than they are. Aswan, keeping his options open is another way of saying that he will take the job if it is offered to him. Personally, with the position Spurs occupy in the hierarchy of British football, I think they must be mad. Whilst Buck suits us at the moment, he is well short of the finished article. If I was making the decision for Spurs then I would be looking for a far more experienced guy at the top level preferably one who is used to handling teams in European competitions. Just my opinion.
I don't agree to that, we don't own or run the club, so should not have any say in running it beyond what is already in place with the supporters trust. What is the club supposed to do , answer any speculation with official statements ? So if I say that Rooney is coming to us, is the club supposed to now answer me with a statement on the club website ?
sorry valley but your wrong we do indirectly own the club, without the fans there would be no club and we pay enough money for the privilege, i agree with Ivor that a simple statement by the club should be made, if they dont know yet then say so, if its all rubbish , say so......thats all it takes to stop all speculation...
Should`nt the title of this thread be the other way around, "rodgers want spurs". He does have a horse does`nt he?, otherwise there would be no point in him having spurs.
Sorry but that's rubbish, I go to Tesco's every week and spend a fortune there, should I expect a similar thing there? Without my custom and many others there would be no Tesco's , so do I indirectly own them considering I spend thousands there over the year ? There is nothing the club can issue in regards to this, so say they say yes Brendan is staying and not going to spurs, then Liverpool sack daglish and offer £7m to the swans for him to go there, now what does that say ? The club will not say that Brendan is going or staying, why should they when there is a manager in place at spurs, and the FA have not offered Harry anything.
totally different..you go to tesco to buy their products and take them home. without our money there would be no club. its as simple as that.....we the fans of swansea own the club with the amount of money spent. it would never survive without the fans...no club would...poor example valley ...sorry
The club will not say that Brendan is going or staying, why should they when there is a manager in place at spurs, and the FA have not offered Harry anything. then the club should end all speculations and put an end to it.......it's really is that simple. why would the club let every single football media writer print these stories if there was nothing in it. Huw and brendan have been quick enough to come out and squash any rumors in the past so why not now.....
The best thing for Rodgers to do , until something is actually happening , is nothing ... simple ! . To ask someone to say something , about nothing , is really something Lol !!
You go to the stadium to see a product it's called football, you don't own the club because you spend money there, show me anything in writing that you have to show that you own any part of the club by buying tickets there. And by definition Tesco's wouldn't survive without their customers, it doesn't they own any part of it unless they have shares. So equally your example falls down Superswan .
