They could gee people up about it a bit more if they put the bloody things on sale whilst they're still able to market them to match going fans. More for getting the more regular pay on the days to sign up for one than getting other people to renew, but even then, after Saturday there'll be a lot of home only fans that want a couple of months off from anything football related before the fixtures come out and they start planning next season and holidays and things like that.

What was the announcement they were putting out over the PA last night anyway? All I could make out on the radio was them saying "season ticket renewals", the rest was cut off or muffled.

this is something that i've noticed the lad called percy has summed up pretty well

just because we were worse off in the past than we are now doesn't mean we're being successful

just because attendances were 4,000 in the mid to late 90's doesn't mean we should settle for a 9,000 plus fall over the past two

and just because our team is much better than the one we had in the same period mentioned above doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to be better still

This is something where the age of fans causes a divide in opinion. The older fans are more happy to remember the bad times and measure our current efforts against that, whilst the younger fans like you and I accept that but also want more right now.

When did we have an average of over 27,000? As I've told you a million times before there's no need to exaggerate.

10 years ago were we not averaging 9,000 though as well rather than 4,000? I'm pretty sure when we moved to the KC our average for the 2001/02 season went up from about 9k at BP in the first half to just over 12k at the KC in the second (ignoring the last/first games where we sold out for the new ground), and then gained more the following year because of promotion.

With regards doing more. I think as well as the problem of not actually putting the tickets on sale, we're only sitting about 2,000 higher than we were in the season when we got promoted from Division 3. (it was one of those weird things I noticed at the time, we attracted more fans because we got a new ground than we did because we'd been promoted twice. (D3 promotion season average compared to Championship average even in promotion season)

I agree - I get the feeling AP is becoming more and more peripheral and is probably worried about stepping on the Allams toe's. I am sure were he still in charge we would be hearing far more about ticket sales, season passes than we're getting at the moment.

BTW our attendances in our five years in the Championship habe been in the 18-19k range - not bad at all. Next season will be a stiff test and the Club should be looking at every avenue of retaining the support that we have built up.
