What's with all the 'Benny-Bashing' again? FFS!!

Others have a run of bad games, miss chances or don't work/track etc etc and those indiscretions seem to get glazed over. Benny has one, possibly two indifferent games and he is castigated and there are calls for his departure.

Just to remind a few of you out there, that he has been one of our most consistent performers over the last 3 years and has been virtually every-present through that time. If there is anyone that deserves and is in need of a rest it is him - and if he is starting to show the pace a bit at the moment then you might have your reason right there.

Maybe he is a bit of a marmite player (heaven knows why anyone wouldn't want a flamboyant and talented footballer in a Spurs side, but there you go...) but there aren't too many better LB's out there. And if you really want Baines then make sure you watch his recent performance against Norwich.

Rant over......

Cisse is my favorite striker, not the best one obviously. But my favorite.

its not always about the best..the lad shows passion and seems up for a battle and well he can finish too...if you have a team where the majority of players have these attributes then you will win alot more than you lose.

nobody is bashing him per say...Top Dog asked a question so a debate started.....we all love Benny really :afro:

and nobody mentioned wanting Baines.

Don't apologise, Top Dog.
Nothing wrong with some healthy disagreement.
No point in having a forum otherwise!

Looking at his form I find it a little irritating that the one game he didn't play well in had to be against Sunderland.

Suggest you read through your earlier posts Dona.
And whenever anyone mentions ditching him, they always come up with Cashley and Baines - cos there are no other FB's that could be considered as an improvement.
Old 606 and Not606 - the same old arguments keep coming up. Youmay not have mentioned Baines but several have.

some players are good at playing football..others like a good ol tussle..i dont think a Derby match is always the best place for a pure footballer to be in...you should have played someone like Alan smith upfront <laugh>

i described his attributes then when someone mentioned that he is not as fashionable as Baines i disagreed...and i also said if we want to stay where we are and hover around the second tier then yes hes fine..but seriously his primary criticism is concentration and you cant allow for that at the top end much..i still agree with that notion..its not Benny bashing..its trying to debate....if you said stop Harry bashing then id apologise<laugh>

I had Smith on my shirt and proclaimed he would get us into Europe... that season ended with me in Birmingham crying in public.

If it makes you feel any better, a bunch of Birmingham fans ended up crying in public last season at WHL.

Not really, Spurs haven't been relegated in my life time... you'll have to one day get relegated to know what it's like. Leeds fans must be clinically depressed.

I'm fine with not knowing, as it happens!
Pass!
