You're the one who just compared a human being born to an animal being born Non-existent animals clearly suffer no pain. Animals bred for meat, milk etc. do. What do you think farming is like for the majority of the world's animals? Some Disney-style paradise where no animal suffers or dies? Did you think the film Babe was a documentary? Honest to God! And your argument makes no sense. By your logic it's okay for animals used in vivisection to suffer because they had some sort of life as opposed to not having any at all. If I were you, I'd stop watching Shaun the Sheep and get down to say, a dairy farm, and work for a few months and see how animals suffer.
What he fails to address is the fact that those 31% veggies live in poverty, cannot afford supplements etc and the knock on effect is massive due to things like the lack Vitamin D (and no scientifically the sun doesnt supply enough) and Vitamin B12, to name just 2, has on their lives in terms of illnesses and disease but also on their children and future generations
II'm going out tonight to end the existence of vegetables. Cruel but hey ho it's ok because they don't have fur or cute faces.
And the comparison of their inevitable death still stands. It's a non-issue on both sides. Non-existent humans clearly suffer no pain. Are you suggesting that we would all be better off if we'd never have existed? You're making yet another argument for ethical farming and not vegetarianism. Reducing animal suffering is obviously a good thing. Doing it by not having animals is not. I've clearly explained that I agree with reducing the suffering of animals, so both of your points are blatantly stupid. Try making some for vegetarianism, as all you're doing is suggesting that any animal suffering is worse than ever having been alive. Should we kill all of the worlds animals, so that no animals need to suffer in the future? What a ludicrous argument.
If that was the rule you would have been shot at birth old fella. Anyway, enjoy your night out. I'm off home to get my dinner. Nice veggie curry tonight with pearl potatoes. I'll leave you with this quote: The question is not, "Can they reason?" nor, "Can they talk?" but rather, "Can they suffer?" ~Jeremy Bentham ps PleaseNotPoll, you're a bigger dick than Fanny and that's saying something! Breeding animals for slaughter is not the same as humans giving birth to children
I'm sorry, as I must admit I'm not fully up to speed on a lot of this, but isn't breeding animals for slaughter called farming, and an intrinsic part of our agricultural cycle?
Anyway I read somewhere once that plants 'scream' when being cut so its Silence of the lambs vs screaming wheat stalks Which is more cruel?
Ok, to use your human argument, is it ok to have a child knowing that you're planning on doing a Fritzl, raping it every day for all it's life and keep it feral? It won't be aware of it's existence much more than a cow will, so what's the problem? The fact that mass-farming happens and animals aren't aware of it is a ****ty argument, because we, as 'the most intelligent' species on this planet (bar fan), should know that it's wrong. Hypocritical ****s that have pets but eat meat annoy me, so people basically decide which animals are worthy of living or not and how long for. There's not enough room on this planet for ethical farming to produce enough meat for the human race, and I wouldn't want it to be some privilege for rich people, so it's better off not happening at all. It's an unnecessary evil
