Thanks. I did it just for you. Blue's meant to be a calming colour. Didn't seem to calm down old Wally much though...
A higher number of Rangers fans than anyone else oppose the FFP rules yet 65% of those surveyed wanted to parachute into the SPL?
So, they broadly support bypassing league rules for basic things like promotion and relegation but oppose the rules which enable this? I'm assuming it's because they believe their own nonsense about the FFP rules being "anti-Rangers" - I can only surmise that this means the same as "not pro-Rangers enough despite being hand-written for them". Before some clown interjects, current rules would allow a team to be voted into the SPL if the member clubs vote accordingly. This has never happened before despite previous newcos being formed. I can only conclude that the majority of Rangers fans polled believe that their team should have their debt written off and face no penalty whatsoever. It's a bit like asking billionaires if they think we should adopt a flat tax (except there's no billionaires about)
We have to be grateful for small mercies, Trevor thinks it was a pretty wee article, not often he is pleased lately.
Rangers will not easily forget those who are putting the boot in when they were down. Maybe they will ban their own fans? That'll learn them.
So is this an admission that if Rangers are liquidated then Scottish football will die? Across the board, 53% of fans would stop attending games?! Also, 53% of Celtic fans would stop attending games if Rangers are liquidated Of course, Celtic don't need Rangers to survive
No, 53 per cent of fans would stop attending games if a NewCo Rangers is allowed immediate entry to the SPL.
The poll says that if a newco Rangers is allowed straight back into the SPL then 53% of fans will stop attending games, regardless of who their team is playing. The new SPL rules that are being discussed is to allow a newco direct entry to the SPL. So if Rangers are liquidated and formed as a newco, with the newco given direct entry to the SPL, then 53% of fans will no longer attend games Cut attendances by 53% on average and you think teams will survive? Where was the survey published, who commisioned it and who carried it out? Some basic information that might make it a bit more credible.
ML If Rangers were simply liquidated and disappeared then that criteria would not apply. The 53 per cent is based on a NewCo getting parachuted straight back into the SPL. http://www.splsurvey.co.uk/
I see what you mean, but if Rangers are liquidated then I would imagine a newco would be setup to purchase all of the existing companies assets and continue as a football team. Too many ins and outs to be thinking about, especially when I have a job to contend with as well
If liquidated all assets are sold to anyone who has the cash, there is no guarantee they will go to the one company as the best price for creditors will be the driver So big DD could buy Ibrox and turn it into a Chapel
There is a rumour (and it is only a rumour) that Rangers could buy another Scottish club and rebrand it and move it to Ibrox. There is a strong suspicion that this is what Whyte was trying to do with St Mirren. Cowdenbeath are a possibility. Allegedly.
<bluebrazilMUIR> Do they actually think fans would accept this and just continue giving their money? Deluded ****s.
