http://www.whufc.com/articles/20120418/play-off-ticket-update_2236884_2739689 Yes, we would have to pull off quite a blunder not to get automatic promotion at this stage of the campaign, but even so, this move seems a but pessimistic?! Especially seems as it's on their official website!
We would have to self destruct not to get this done now. Nigel won't let that happen and Fat Sam knows it. If they don't go up in major finacial trouble next year!
You won't catch me celebrating yet but it's almost a done deal now. Anyway they are just trying to drum up ticket interest for their last game.
Tbf, the blurb does say... Fans who buy tickets for West Ham United's final home game of the season with Hull City will be given special priority for the club's Play-Off semi-final, should West Ham finish in the Play-Offs come the end of the season. Some might say they are being a little defeatist. I think they're just being pragmatic. It's an early opportunity to advertise ticket sales, should the apparent inevitable happen. No chickens counted, down this way, of course.
i'm suprised their advertising in that tone. If I were the editor i would have made a point of using the term 'in the event that west ham requires the play offs to gain promotion ' etc... or something of that ilk.
Talking about bubbles bursting, I saw Reading's team opening the champagne, after promotion was guaranteed. Reckon that might cause a bit of hangover. I wouldn't be celebrating that hard until the end of the season. I know one should capture the moment, but there's still a title to be contested.
I wouldn't. If I were the Editor/Marketing Manager, I'd be using tones like this "Come on and get behind the lads at the game that could be the one that we need to win " I wouldn't even use the phrase "play-off"
Could it be that West Ham were actually prefering the extra games to bring in some more revenue, unlikely but not without logic.
Hopefully they get up through the playoffs and dispense of Allardyce. A proper club, with proper fans and an illustrious history. Not to mention a great away day.
I'd prefer to see the 'stay in NPC' experiment, where literally anything could happen! I don't like Blackpool, but if we're to go up, better to have some (this could upset someone) small fry. After the Reading thread, can't believe I put that!
