Apparently it was done by mistake and the ban rescinded when it was challenged by quite a few people. I guess we'll never know how true that actually is, but I tend to believe it.
Jayram's profile was never really restored. The current one suggests he only started here in February!
Well considering I got a PM from a super mod telling me what happened I KNOW he got banned because a few people complained and was no mistake Actually .. it wasn't a PM - it was a post on a thread FROM a super mod.
Yet no-one has admitted complaining about him. Any chance you can share the PM, or clarify exactly what happened?
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/119345-The-Danger-of-Assumptions There you go chap .. in ALL it's glory.
I can't see your PM in there, but OK he was banned deliberately by cyprusssyd, following complaints from anonymous users: "First, Jayram was banned for 7 days to give him cooling down time following complaints about his style from ARSENAL users." It was then rescinded. I agree that he probably shouldn't have been banned, but what is a super mod (not a regular on the Arsenal board) meant to do when he get's numerous (anyone know how many?) complaints from users of the board?
Missed the edit. But it's not true that: "Its very sad that opinions can't be voiced without having to follow a sheep mentality of agreeing with a mod so you don't become unpopular" As you yourself and Jayram, as well as others have shown.
With all the criticism that follows from the usual suspects If I don't like a thread I will either prove the posters wrong or ignore it, I don't call for that person to be banned or call for the thread to be closed. I don't get my "gang" and try to derail or destroy the thread either.
In your opinion? But I agree. That is what should happen. Not people crying about the mods. Just argue against their views or ignore them. It's only a football chat forum after all. Also, without knowing who made the complaints, or how many there were, it should be impossible to accuse any 'gang', certainly in the Jayram debacle.
I had a bit of trouble with the last chap who said "D'you wanna be in my gang , my gang, my gang" to me...
It's alright, you're safe. You're too old for him now... PS Gangs are rubbish. I prefer to sit on the sidelines making unhelpful wise-cracks which help nobody and make only myself laugh. Like heroes do.
