Would you swap Parker for Song ??

Absolute tosh. Parker is a box to box midfielder always has been but is playing more as a DM for Spurs and England

I worded my post to be impartial, to not bias the response, I wanted to hear honest answers. Simple. so your assertion that I wanted to get a reaction from spurs fans is, I am afraid, bollox. I have posted the same question on around 10 other boards !!!

 

Its a pointless excerise as the majority of fans on a forum like this will automatically prefer their own player unless you are talking about someone like VP.

 

I'd say that the answers on here reflect a decent knowledge of Song and his characteristics, though.
A couple of years ago he was a worse player, but better for the team.
He's now got more strings to his bow, but he doesn't play the holding role properly, preferring to go for a wander instead.
That would be disastrous for Spurs, as it would leave our back line exposed regularly.

 

Carrick and Song are completely different players, by the way.
Not really a great comparison.

 

There are definately different systems employed by Arsenal and Spurs and the 2 players have different assigned roles. Therefore its not really a like for like comparison.

 

I agree. I think that most of the replies here reflect that, too.

 

By the way just for the record I rate both players very highly.
