This has been mentioned before on the forum and a few people seemed interested in going and having a get together. Just a reminder.

    Guess who's coming to dinner.

The annual Black and White Reunion event at the Lancastrian Suite in Dunston next month will gather together a group of former Newcastle United Managers with wildly varying degrees of popularity - and notoriety.

Assured of a good reception will be Chris Hughton and assistant Colin Calderwood, while the return of Joe Kinnear to Tyneside should add spice to the occasion - rumours that JFK will arrive in a motorcade are untrue.

From a previous era, the appearance of Gordon Lee may stir up a few ghosts - assuming that he doesn't accept a better offer for an Everton reunion on the same night...

Completing the lineup are Richard Dinnis (1977), Jack Charlton (1984-85), Willie McFaul (1985-88) and Colin Suggett (1988) while Joe Harvey's former assistant Keith Burkinshaw will also be in attendance.

Admission prices for the event on Thursday May 31st are £15 for entry only, £40 entry and meal and £65 for a VIP option. Bookings online here or via 0191 229 9631.

Most of that lot should be embarrassed to make an appearance.

In fairness, JFK did a better job as manager than Shearer did and I don't blame him for taking the job when it was offered. I'd give him a friendly welcome.

We should organize a combined reunion of past crap managers. We could add Mick Buxton, Terry Butcher, Malcolm Crosby (still popular for the '92 Cup Final though) Lawrie Mackemenemy to your shower and hey presto! Instant bunch of arse. Lawrie Mac would at least get a cheer from you lot...

Not sure that Lawrie Mac would get a cheer. Terry Mac would.

Trust me Lawrie would. He used to live next door to my Nan in Southampton and the Geordie contingent of my family used to treat him like royalty at BBQ's etc... Even more so than the Southampton fans did!

Him and his brother's went to the same school as me, he wasn't recognised as being all that good in those days.

Unfortunately I think one of his brothers was killed quite close to where they lived. Hit by a car.
